Divide and Conquer
Hello, first playthrough on Normal doing Divide and Conquer questline. I'm also planning to do a second playthrough on max difficulty afterwards.

The lack of complete guides for this game is a bit unfortunate. I'm trying to get the best outcome for this quest, but unsure what's best.

Killing Theo's concubine neats a very nice amulet at the cost of party disapproval. I can poison him, but unsure what that will do in the end. Setting up a trap in the mountains opens up a shot for a secret achievement.

I'm leaning towards the achievement to get it out of the way, perhaps getting the amulet on my max difficulty playthrough. On hard, I usually go for the strongest equipment rewards to make the journey a bit easier (at the cost of role-playing more often than not). Any advice?

Update: As the greedy individual that I am, you can actually kill the maid in the alleyway to grab her amulet. As long as you don't confront Theophilus about it, you won't get the nasty reputation impact and you can proceed as you wish for the rest of the quest, including siding with Theophilus to get the achievement.

Poisoning is useful for speed runners I guess, spending 1000 denaries to auto-resolve the quest for 70xp, moving on to the contract mission. I was a bit low on cash after buying javelins, throwing knives, wine and honey, so I wasn't going to spend a dime on that quest and went for the forgery + arrest Theophilus once I got the achivement.

If you have the required speech perk, you can also persuade the maid to give you her necklace without killing her.

Sadly, I went for Logos as my perk. I just thought people out there might find useful that you can still kill her with no repercussions if you don't use her necklace to provoke Theophilus.
