Stuck. How do I recruit Legionari? Deploy legions to resources?
So Iv'e just started to pacify Asia, and well and truly stuck and can't seem to progress at all.

I have a quest to recruit 3 Legionari and have a pacify mission that is very confusing (because it seems I have to assign it to one of my companions and fill the rest of the spaces with.....people that aren't companions? ~ my guess is those spaces have to be filled with recruited Legionaris? )

First, I can find no obvious way to recruit Legionari....where am I supposed to go to do that? Secondly I cannot sent my Legions to capture resources like Iron mines (the despatched button is greyed out).

Thanks in advance for advice on how to move forward.

Where you recruit the Centurions you also have the option to hire as Praetorians. These are the guys you need to recruit. Centurions lead your legion, Praetorians are your personal guard. Your companions are also Praetorians technically, though it’s easier to keep them separate so it’s easy to reference them as they are distinctly different in terms of game mechanics.

I believe the quest you refer to is the one that asks you recruit centurions aka generals for your legion. You do this by going to the barracks building in your legion camp. It will by symbolized by a tent. Usually Bestia and Syneros are standing in front of it. Once you do that your legion will be taskable to send out on the big map. You select the object you want to conquer and then select Dispatch Legion. If it is grayed out, you may have not pacified the region yet, which requires a special mission. Hope that helps.

Iv'e already done the quest to recruit Centurions for my Legion (that one is on the starter Isle).

Yeah I'm guessing that this pacify quest can only be done by Legionaris but I don't know how I'm supposed to recruit them.

Legionaris are different to Centurions I'm guessing? If I'm supposed to use Centurions then I don't see how I can assign them to this pacify mission.

This is the way.

I'm not sure how I missed that, can't see the wood for the trees maybe? :philosophizing:

Many thanks.

Sorry I play in Russian, so may be litle disconnect.
Press "O" to set them on work in camp. Hammers, first aid icons aplied at camp.
Go to barrack building, where you hire them, and switch to 2 page. On the 2 page on the left characters for aventure and to the right 4 commanders. You can drag and drop them from Centurions to Praetorians and vice versa.
You are limited to 12 hired leaders = 8 adventure + 4 commanders.
Party characters do not count to limit, but also can work in camp. Gladiator can boost new recruits.

All right. I'm either an idiot OR not far enough along in the game... JUST recently/now went to Asia minor. Need to leave a Praetorian at what, I assume, will be my next base/camp/place and with the ability to build other structures in.
*I* don't have the option to hire them as Praetorians (and it's driving me insane!)... only Centurions... which are in 'my party'. Obv, I already had to hire 4 commanders for the first island. It won't even let me hire another Centurion, plus I saw no way to toggle/switch them back and forth. Obv, I can 'fire' one of them, but don't want to - unless it'll open the other options.
There's no page 2. I've seen example pics of the left/right sides under "Party". I don't have that either.
So, please a little help here? Am I just not far enough along? ANYTHING will help. Thank you in advance.

Not far enough. You need to have taken your first sector in Asia Minor first. It should open up hiring afterwards for the pacification missions. Just win your first legion battle over there.

Wheeeeew! Thanks for the info. At least I kinda guessed right (on the 'far-enough' point, know the first one already :). Thanks, man!
