You can light the two bridges on the same turn. You can have also the fire arrow ability to burn the bridge.

Things that make this mission tolerable, is to have a Veles (rogue) with Tactical Advance, Cheap Shot and Sneak Attack along with the spear of Achilles for the Reaper effect. First turn get your guys in position, but don't trigger combat. Second turn use a Triarus for Logistics and send Bestia to massacre as many as he can while also grabbing a torch with everyone else while getting as close as you can to the first bridge.

Third turn finish off or ignore the remaining enemies, and get Bestia as close to the second bridge without triggering the group. Fourth turn light the first bridge then have Bestia use TA to avoid AoO and just rush the second bridge.

A Veles with Marathon and/or a Sagittarius with fire arrows makes it relatively easy. You don’t have to kill the enemies, just light the bridges. If you have a save from before the fight, have the bridge team equip lighter armor for more movement and some torches. One character can do this solo if you have the proper movement abilities.

All 3 sieges can be pretty tough if you don't have the right people in the right teams. This case is one of them. There's various approach that can work and were described above, but the easiest by far is to have a Veles with Marathon and focus everyone on the right side of the map and the bridge on the right. Once that bridge is ablaze, simply send the Veles with Marathon on the second one, once it starts burning the mission immediatly ends in a success.

siege missions are really boring and the game has a lot of shortcomings I deleted the game after 20 hours and was on the africa map that's how long I lasted

"Sieges", played 1 siege. You're a funny man.

I mean, I found them to be the most interesting battles. Some ran a little long because you had to wait for unnecessary animations like the allied catapults in the Gallia siege. They’re the only battles where you have to manage resources longer than 3-4 turns.

I also liked a lot the siege battles, but I can understand that they can be frustrating for someone that don't like trial and error. I personaly had to redo from start all 3 sieges because I ended up each time in an impossible situation, and each time it meant doing again more than 1 hour of playthrough.

I've tried this siege 4 times without success. Next I'll try fire arrows. My guys simply are not specced correctly to be able to run around for this win. Very annoying. I guess 2 tanks and 2 archers. the annoying part is that I simply didn't create characters (Bestia) with the right skills to be able to run past/through these enemies.

ooohhh....fire arrows don't work on the bridge either. This is pretty lame. Feeling very stuck on this siege. This siege is seeming impossible for me, all because I specced Bestia incorrectly. Any way to re-spec?

Nope, but you can potentially refresh your list of recruitable praetorians until you get one with Marathon.

Update: What I did was I spent an hour searching the entire map for random treasures until I located a couple cloth. I had previously used all my cloth on bandages, never a torch. With the two cloth I made two torches. Crowd control via caltrops, bridges burned easily with the torches I brought. The rest of the siege was pretty easy.

It is nice that the observation towers replenish for locating random treasures. You can farm stuff up if you really need it.

Did you know that you can get temporary torches if you click on bonfires?

yes of course I knew that I could pick up torches from bonfires...but I didn't want to get bogged down fighting those guys guarding the bonfire.

Once I had the cloth to make my own torches to bring to the fight it was a breeze. But by the same token I hate it that I had to micro-manage a solution to this level. If I had one or two more turns available to fight I could have done it the first try. But I do thank you for the several responses. I should have thought about bringing my own torches sooner, but I had no cloth left because I used it all for bandaids.

I remember, when I was thought beating this mission on my second try, just to find out, that fire arrows do not work for no apparent reason. :berserk:
and on my 3rd try, I was lacking one (1!) movement point (or throw distance).
