Here's a funny thing. I also thought those two names were a references to the Rome TV show. They're not. Those two names were centurions specifically named by Julius Caesar in his book "Commentarii de Bello Gallico", his writings about the Gallic Wars.
Well, the names from the TV-show were a reference to "De Bello Gallico"...so I think its both now. A reference to the books and a reference to the TV-show.
Its perhaps a little abstract but Lucullus is refering to "local specialities from Pontus" he want to examine. Thats perhaps a reference to Plinius the elder, who said that Lucullus was the first who imported modern cherry-tress to western-europe.
Yes you do.
If you take the violent option the following happens.
The big obese gaul claps excitedly as the little one shakes his head disapprovingly. He takes a sip from his hip flask...and strange events happen a few moments later.
You cannot remember but when you come to, you and your Preatorians are heavily wounded and there is no sign of the gauls or the menhir.
And you fail the quest.
