Logic Artists close down...
And join Dynasty Studios to make a multiplayer survival game with NFTs.
The article is from December 2021, so it's a done deal.

Expeditions: Rome is their swan song. Loved both Conquistador and Vikings, so it's sad to see.

It probably also means Rome won't be getting any major support after the launch like DLCs.

I feel the need to clarify two things.

First off, not everyone who worked on Expeditions: Rome will join Dynasty.

Secondly, as others have pointed out here, the Expeditions series has been owned by THQ Nordic since before Rome began development. The creation of Dynasty will not affect the support of Rome nor the DLC plans.

As for Dynasty I can't really talk about that because I have nothing to do with it :)

It's even codenamed HAN, so yeah, definitely something intended for the Chinese market.

Sad too because I feel like Rome could finally be the entry that blows up big for them. It's more streamlined, popular history period, and better looking graphics. Not so hardcore and old school like conquistadors. Now it's just a dead studio swan song :,(

Lol wtf? "Buy our game, btw we're now a NFT scam company."
KharnFlakes Jan 19, 2022 @ 11:00pm
Lol what a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dissapointment. Well sorry, but i wont buy this game then. Hillarious, why even announce this before game release, get ready for refunds. People trying to chase money with those NFT's i hope all who is trying this model will go bankrupt, eventually.

Congratulations you are now scam company, getting money from Rome sales just to fund your NFT project.

Not sure how it all works, but maybe THQ could do something with the IP.

That's incredibly disappointing. Each Expeditions game was better than the last and I was really looking forward to seeing what they'd do with the next one. Instead they got greedy and went after not only stupid MMO survival crap but NFTs as well. What a shame. Especially since the alternate-history-tactical-RPG niche was pretty much only filled by Logic Artists and they're abandoning it to trend chase with everyone else.

You do know that THQ Nordic bought the IP of the Expeditions Series in 2018? That THQ Nordic was working alongside LA on Rome?

Logic thinking should lead to the realization, that it is highly unlikely, if you buy a IP like this, spend money, time and effort on it, to simply let it die.

Sure, nothing is set in stone, but THQ Nordic is not known to be another EA at all.
