Demo wont start, stuck on blank loading screen

had that icon on botom right spinning for over 15 min... tried several times...
verified files, rebooted pc and even cleared download cache.... the thing just wont run

did some digging and this bug has been around since 2019
one person mentioned a solution involving updating C++ so i got the latest version from this site and game immediately worked, took me to menu to adjust settings and game started
