Getting a new error and can't play
I used to love playing this game and wanted to do another play through, but, now when I try to run it, I get an error box with the following:

Msg: Runtime exception code c0000005 (ACCESS_VIOLATION) at address 0019F072
File: intel_stack_trace.cpp
Line: 511

PC is more than up for the task of running the game and I have Windows 10...

Thoughts? Fixes? Help!

Unplug your USB controller before you launch the game. Solves the problem.

Not an ideal solution, but oh well.

Yeah, it's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ solution since I can only really play the game with the controller.

ah well.

When I plug it back in and try to select the controller in the options, it doesn't crash, but still won't let me switch.

If you have any applications that would make controllers compatible with your computer you'll need to uninstall those.
WinJoy for an example. I had this issue, I didn't have a controller connected but this program was creating the error.

Yeah, I don't have any programs like that. Out of curiosity, are you using win 10?
Cosmic Oct 14, 2015 @ 9:14am
Nope, 8.1.

Tried that, I noticed no difference.

Okay, yeah, I'm now 100% convinced it's an issue with Windows 10 and this game.
