Catastrophe
Right now,I am focusing on the segment moving the sphere-like orbs in an attempt to place them in the yellow sockets

I can say I need help but that would not begin to address this catastrophe.

First things first;

1. Player is supposed to be able to hold down left mouse button and move the sphere-like orbs
2. Naturally, I want the orbs to move in the direction I intend for them to move.
3. Sadly,this is not the way they move.
4. Fifty per cent of the time left mouse button held down moves spheres where the mouse is directing.
5. Fifty per cent of the time left mouse button held down moves the spheres in the opposite direction of where I intend for them to go.

This is a puzzle that obviously has a definite agenda. Unfortunately, it is clear what that agenda is.

1. Scrutinise how much precious time is wasted moving spheres back to where you intended after they make their autonomous and lengthy journey across the track
2. The patience of anyone is tested to the maximum level
3. When I stop to take a break my hands feel as if the were put through a meat grinder.
4. The reason they feel like they went through the meat grinder is because of the constant repetitive grinding back tracking movements that are called on here.
5. It's been said that the definition of insanity is repeating the same mistakes and never learning from them
6. This puzzle is the epitome of insanity
7. Every other move involves moving a sphere BACK to where you intended it to go AFTER sphere went the opposite direction

holding left mouse is to rotate yourself while staying in "active" mode. simply clicking on the balls will make them travel one way.. until they come to an obsticle, then they reverse... clunky.... takes patience..

I don't even understand how to get them where they are supposed to be

Well,in my game, the obstacle is not needed. Spheres travel the opposite direction that you are directing them fifty per cent of the time. They do this whether they cross an obstacle (other spheres and pylons) or not.

It is completely mind numbing.........

spoiler... if a ball is locked between say.. a pin and another ball, it will travel in the direction that is open... this is how you get balls on to different rings
There is a video walkthrough out there, although it is in French. I used it just for the door to this room.. the hints were incorrect. hints say first second and third tabs on upper.. actually 124

Yes, I know that (spoiler) I've been doing that.

I've spent hours and hours and hours to no avail.

This is probably one of the first steps; (below)

I can't even get the two spheres off the innermost track

As the guys said: you have to click once and the ball will move. The thing is that you have to move them to different rings. And they will change direction ONLY when they are blocked by something. So - when you roll the ball to the end of the track or it is between two other balls. And the solution: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IS28gPldQ40&ab_channel=kedar1993

From the feedback provided one would have to concur that I had made up the entire story about the sphere rolling in the opposite direct autonomously. That is not the case. The sphere rolls the direction you want it to fifty per cent of the time.

The other half of the time it rolls in the opposite direction that you intended. Key in this is the fact that no matter what the angle is that you choose to interact with sphere it still does this perpetually. The sphere does NOT need a pylon OR another sphere in order to make it turn in the unintended direction. It just does.

Making a movie file would assist me here but I'm not sure the idea would be able to work. In fact I'm not sure how to even configure such a task.

Now this is something that is to me totally and completely underhanded;

The first screenshot is where my last save stopped before I exited game.

Upon returning to game later on it has reset my save back to this;

Such an action by game is manipulative and out of order.

I think this puzzle is impossible to solve unless you happen to chance on the correct combination of placements at the first attempt. Once you have put the balls out of place, there is simply no way to return them to their original places - without being able to do that, you cannot manoeuvre them into the correct spots.

I solved the balls puzzles on hard by first drawing it on paper and testing the ball positions to get the correct ones. There are ten balls, but only 9 that need to be placed right. I dont see how you could get stuck. There is only one arc that has no ball but you have to bring 2 balls there so you cannot be stuck there. Other than that one, you can always get the balls back by using the 10th ball and/or other balls.

Well I'm stuck; I went looking for a solution after literally days of trying, but I can't get the balls back to their original positions in order to use the solution I saw; there is just no way to do that once the balls have been moved out of their original position because you need at least one other ball and a post to move them, and if they are on either of the inner circles, you need another ball to block them from moving onto the wrong circle.
Once they are moved out of their original positions, you can't get them back to where they were and the puzzle is no longer solvable.

You see the inner arc that has the 10th ball that wont be used in a correct position? From what I remember, I used that arc to transfer 3 to 4 balls, maybe 5, so I could move 2 balls to the outer arc that originally had no ball. Then I moved the balls left back using the same inner arc with the 10th ball. From there everything fell into places. You should have 1 ball on both inner arcs, 1 ball on both middle arcs and 2 balls on each of the three outer arcs.

Solved it. Thanks - the extra ball helped, but it took ages to get them all to where they needed to be.:steamthumbsup:
