This game is legit! -A short analysis/review
(Posting in discussion as I got it in a different store)

Though, I'm surprised at how many people wouldn't recommend this game and I think I know why.

First, yeah it's pretty, it's got flair, but it's also redundant in looks. Which for me personally, works perfectly as I have very bad geographical skills, but on the other hand, I have great puzzle skills. Navigating this world is like an IQ test, your answer is hidden in your previous "questions" so to speak. It's not obvious, there is hardly "landmarks" or terrain to remember. All in all, navigating is sort of like a mini puzzle in itself in finding "where to go" next. To some extents, multiple paths can pan out as well. If you are the kind of person that runs into every slope in games seeing if you can somehow climb it? You'll most likely enjoy this redeeming quality in Recompile.

Second, calling it a Metroidvania is a bit reaching. A "Third person Action Adventure Platformer" would also fit but it does have "metroidvania" aspects.

This game needs a demo, the world, the graphics is beautiful and it renders MUCH BETTER when you are playing it than watching photos/videos. Honestly, I was like "meh...", then I played it and I was like: "ohhh!". And I usually skip story but being that it's text, I picked up bits and pieces that engaged me enough to actually read it all once I finished the game. Great story for sure!

Audio is overall nailed, from sfx to tracks. 10/10 in audio no doubt.

But yeah, the aesthetics can make it challenging to many it seems as you are stuck on a vast world where within a biome, everything looks alike.

I'm glad I picked it up, it's honestly one of the most refreshing game I've played in a long time. For me to finish a game in one sitting is not common but this one justified it.
