They provide an option that you’ve used to help the folks that get sick etc. The flip side is there are those that don’t mind the effect and don’t get sick.
Does feel a bit on/off but maybe they can add another animation that caters for the middle demographic who kind of still want it on..
There will still be people though who don’t like that specific middle ground and will want something changed can’t please everyone.
- First off, as already mentioned, don't down an entire bottle of booze. For vodka and bourbon, you actually only need to drink half the bottle to get the max drunk effect. It's far more managable to only drink sips (double tap left click) at a time as you would in real life. Or just stick to beer and cider which won't get you as drunk even if you skull the entire bottle in one go. Follow these steps and you can easily RP an alcoholic detective without getting yourself sick too.
- There is no real gameplay reason to get drunk either, other than the one achievement that requires it. It's purely for RP and immersion. Still a feature I would prefer to keep in the game as it is a sandboxy Imsim. I don't consider features that are non-essential to the core gameplay loop of a game like this to be "bloat", but rather, it adds to the player immersion and game atmosphere. Though I wouldn't mind if the visual effect was toned down or adjustable in the options. But at least in this game, you live and you learn and I appreciate that it doesn't hold your hand.
- The effect lasts for usually a couple of in-game hours. If you can successfully make it to a bed or a seat, you can fast forward time to sober up more quickly. Once you get the nausea status you can also vomit in a trash can or toilet to sober up a little too.
- Coffee also seems to reduce the drunk effect.
Sounds like Florida.
