Can internal apartment security be disabled?

So I've all but nailed my latest murder perp. I only need to find the murder weapon, which is either going to be on her person or at her house, and then arrest her.

She's currently at work for the next 6 in-game hours so I'm in her apartment, however her bedroom (which also houses her safe and cruncher) is very well covered by multiple scout lasers. Is there any way to disable them without having to dodge lasers, stack stools, and spend 8 lockpicks apiece to shut them off?

There's no apparent switches inside the apartment, and toggling security & power switches in the apartment hallways doesn't seem to affect anything inside.

Nope. Was it supposed to, though? Hallway switches don't disable security inside offices, either. The difference is that offices have their own power boxes, whereas apartments do not

Yes it should. I suppose the building generated it either on another floor, or the sensors are not part of a network at all, but usually hallway security boxes will turn off security in the apartments on that floor. I've done it regularly.

Security systems in apartments in the upper floors are often not connected to any box (indicated by them not having red wiring at all), so you've to either dodge or sabotage them.

You can also wait for the apartment owners to come home, since they'll switch off the systems when entering the apartment.

Resurrecting this thread. Same issue. Would be nice to have an alarm keypad by the front door linked to the laser system (can be the same code or a different 'house' code linked to the apartment itself like the address book.)
