Out of leads, no clue what to do
So I'm on a case of a poisoning where the only thing found near the body was a toy car with a finger print.

After casing the entire apartment, I went to both residences work areas, finding no match for the print. I then went through their address book, and gov databased everyone, again no matches. Next I went around their entire residential building, printed everyone and lifted prints of those who refused, still no match. I then said screw it, and went to every residential building and thoroughly scanned every mailbox for prints, and yet STILL no match?? The only options I have left that I can think of is going one by one through the phone book, running every person through the gov database...

Surely I've missed something but I've quadruple checked the apartment and both places of work?

Did you try dialing 541-0000? Then, dial that number you found through 541-0000 and if no one picks up, you can get the logs of the phone call through the basement of the building you made the call from. It should show the location of the phone call, regardless of anybody picking it up.

Pawnshops and hardware store sell toy cars. you could check their sell logs, also check the employees of those places since they have access to the stock.

That's what I'd do. Toy cars seem to get tracked fairly well in stores, at least in my games.

Can always check who bought syringes and poison at your local pharmacies and illegal markets.

There are a few ways to go about solving mono-clue murder cases:

Check the CCTVs of the apartment unit's corridors on the date/time of murder. Every apartment building have a security room (located at 5th floor usually with a camera logo on its door) for you to access the computer and check the surveillance logs of anyone in the vicinity of the crime scene at time of murder.

Check the blue address book in the victim's apartment and add all the names you can find to your notebook. Then go to the city hall, access the government database and search all those names that you noted down. Government database records includes fingerprints info and the blue address book names are the people related to the victim.

Damn, yall got the tips! unfortunately I cleared the pharma and last call already, but I didn't know the pawn sold the cars, the illegal markets had actual poison, or that you could go back on cctv! (probably should've played more of the tutorial lol)

Thanks for the help, only wish I had asked sooner lmao

if the victim got killed with a gun, check your local weapons dealer. there are at leat 1 or 2 people who bought a gun that fits.
