Boost FPS?
My game runs at a 30fps maximum, with most other places being at a 15-20fps, is there something like a launch option to help with FPS?
The game is very good and I don't want to refund it due to it being barely playable

this is the biggest flaw the game has and it looks like the dev can't solve this since there have already been 3, last one yesterday and today one hidden patch without any infos. all the, i say 3.5 patches have brought no advantage interms of frames.

It seems to be tied to lighting. You're definitely not the only one I'm the same way with hitting 10-20fps in some areas and only about 50 max. If its any consolidation most of the frame drops happen in office buildings.

I personally wouldn't refund, there's a lot of fun to be had if you just hold out.

Definitely, the game literally released less than a week ago, it's staying in my library

Yeah definitely a lot of potential here, can't wait to see where it goes.

Lower your resolution as low as you can visually handle it. Being a voxel game, it's pretty much lossless, for a HUGE performance buff. The less total pixel area your GPU has to compensate for, the better it will run.

Pick a resolution that's about half of what you currently use, and make sure it's the same aspect ratio.

Then just lock the game to the nearest interval- 30 or 45 or 60 FPS, whatever you can manage at all times.

Also, there's a memory leak issue; after about two hours, you'll need to restart your game.

Like i said for the person above lowering resolution should help you. If your GPU is struggling and can't hit 60, but it can reliably hit aboyt 45, you can definitely get it running smoothly at low res.

Also: Older GPU models will really suffer in this game. They're simply not equipped to handle the intensely performance draining raycast lighting, and while they'll still WORK, they're gonna be real stressed out.

what about a hp laptop hat has 8 gigs, what would you recommend
Aaron Dark Nov 10, 2023 @ 2:19pm
tho tbh, the dev could add some features like most games have, like

turn off shadows
turn off reflections
clear weather
lower smooth lighting
or even have where if trash is on the ground it has about 5 mins till it despawns

ram is not what makes your computer good or bad

you need to actually say which gpu, cpu, and hard drive you have

also: you can't turn off or lower the lighting in this. The method the game uses for lighting is called raycasting. There's no way to increase performance by turning off shadows because shadows aren't drawn in the simplistic way they're normally drawn in other games.

still, would be better,, or at least have an option to have just clear skies or no effects with weather, my pc mostly loses frames when it rains

it "would be better"? I don't understand. It's not possible to do the things you describe, except perhaps disabling weather.
After a decade or so of getting used to losing frames because of obscure technical problems(my current rig can brute force through most bad optimization, but it can never run Assassin's Creed 3), when GPU power is the issue, an overlooked solution is still simply dropping resolution. For gaming, I sincerely can barely see a difference between 720 and 1080, nevermind the "4k" I had to buy a huge ass damn monitor to work on. In fact, ironically, given that I play on a home theater setup, the way a lot of games handle text and UI scaling forces me drop resolution way down to be able to read anything. You can sometimes keep up from almost a generation behind if you don't mind making that compromise.

I have never bought into the 4K hype. Not once have I thought, "Gee, this 1920 x 1080 monitor is nice and all, but I wish I could see about 20% more pixels overall with no increase in visual fidelity"
