Trying to edit save (old one is bugged)

Hi everyone,

So I am trying to edit my save because my old one is bugged and no new murders have happened in over a week.

(I've tried disabling and enabling the procedural murders, doing side missions and asking around if people have seen anything suspicious.)

Now I have been trying to find the "IsDead=true/false" in my save to find out if its just an undiscovered body and I have also been trying to transfer my main character to a new save, but upon opening the saves in notepad and notepad++ its just a bunch of random letters and symbols.

Please can anybody give any info on how to fix this as all the tutorials ive seen on editing the saves don't have this issue!

Hello,
I am trying to do a similar thing and by default the game compresses the savefile, load the game you are trying to edit, and in the "Gameplay settings" menu disable city and savefile compression and then save. at that point the new saves you make will be readable

From what I've read from other users, manually editing your save file is likely to break it.
