Tired of calculating between normal time and military time. Pick one.
Don't have my watch run in 24 hour time and then civilians give me clues on seeing people at AM or PM. Pick one time format for the whole game to run on and stick to it. Doing otherwise is annoying and serves no purpose. I'd recommend 12 hour time, if only because it'll be familiar to the vast, vast majority of your audience moreso then military time.

Well, I'd prefer ISO 8601 time used everywhere...

It's a UK dev and America is legit the only place that calls it military time and I doubt we make up a majority of the playerbase. This is kinda like asking everyone else to use the imperial system because we don't understand metric.

I prefer 24 hours format

a setting would be easy and fix every problem related to this. I'm similarly confused by the 24 hour clock format.

also regardless of what we call it, the 12 hour day is standard globally.

But there's 24 hour day here on Earth. 12 hour days may be happening on a different planet...

Yeah, I know we're the only people who call it that. But you know what I mean, the 24 hour format.

And that's fine. I'd rather have a setting like Isabelle suggests- Pick one and stick to it, either one, don't care which. Let players stick to whichever version they prefer.

It's sort of realistic in a way usually police and military would use a 24-hour format, whereas the civilians that you would be talking to would be using the am pm system. For me it's like second nature converting the two, but I see where you guys are coming from. It could just be a setting.

Only americans use 12 hours, every else uses 24. Not hard to learn

Then have the civilians use 24 instead. Be consistent whatever you pick.

No one ACTUALLY says it's 2100 when someone asks for the time though, they still say 9 o clock. Having an average civilian say "I saw x person at 2300 hours" would be extremely weird and immersion breaking (for me anyway). I do agree that giving us the option is totally valid but realistically you could learn to convert the time quicker than the devs would be able to implement that option. It's honestly not that hard to do either, I've been doing it because I also don't know the conversions. If it helps you can plot a route and once you arrive the time in the bottom left with the address and all that is in 12 hr format, use that with your watch and you'll pick it up fairly quick.

It might be Realistic, but games often have to take shortcuts away from being purely realistic, because being *fun* is more important. If you want the 'Aesthetic" of having civilians be annoying to get info out of, you do you, but for anyone who has dyscalculia or is american or just used to one or the other for any reason, a setting is best for general QOL.

Bro I KNOW you're not trying to use a disability as a argument for this one issue YOU and *maybe* a handful of people have. Anyone with that condition is gonna have an issue with some password puzzles as well but no one's complaining about that. Just learn it or be lazy but trying to get the devs to make a new watch face and redo ALL the time based dialogue because YOU don't wanna learn this or even pull up a chart, or write the conversions on a sticky note IN GAME is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ insane.

"Why don't people with disabilities just get over it?"

Yeah, I'm not gonna argue with you on this one, matey. I've made my point on this subject.
