I Love This Game, BUT...
Upfront, this is the game for me. I'm one of these people who is having a good time all around, I've been having a good time since I bought it, I just wish I had more time to play it. I adore it. I'm looking forward to what the devs are going to do going forward from here.

What I DON'T love is how cases just kind of... Pop up, and you automatically accept them. It's not a bad system per se, and it is breaking less than it has in the past, but it's just kind of... Eh. I understand what we're doing. We're vigilante justice 'listening in on the broadcast' of crimes that come in for the enforcers to handle. It absolutely makes sense in a narrative context.

Something's just off about the actual act of cases coming in. And I know that you don't have to solve every kidnapping and murder! I just wish something about it was different than what we have now. Like, if maybe there was a sheet of unsolved crimes that refreshed after 72 in game hours, or something, and we got to choose which crimes we solved. Break into the briefing room and look at a corkboard, or something.

I don't think that's the answer to the problem I have, but I wish we had a touch more agency in the cases we work on. Even if we have to earn it through our reputation. And/or, that there was more major crime going on at once. I know that's what the side jobs are for, filling the hours in between the missions, but there's a really big difference between side PI work and active, major cases. Just shuffling around waiting for one to come in isn't a bad thing, like an 'EMERGENCY THERE'S A KILLING' situation definitely fits the vibe, but I've found in the gameplay that it's kind of disengaging.

I hope at least a little of that made sense. Tried to get all my thoughts down before work. Cheers!

It’s a fair thought in terms of immersion. Maybe we buy a police scanner and listen to chatter over the waves. I’ve always wanted a car in this game where you can sit and chuff a cigar, as well as a hand held scanner you could have an in car one too, just sitting in the rain in your car waiting for something to catch your fancy on the police scanner radio..

It’d be epic if there was crimes just happening all the time all over the place but you have to pick wisely.

Okay, it really works for me though. Mundane day to day menial PI stuff, and suddenly a real serious thing through police scanners. For you sort of anti-killing crusade. I like that pace and delivery. It makes murders and death stand out as a big deal.
