Is there a way to learn your own passcode?
I can't use my cruncher or my safe. I started a new sandbox game and I don't have any idea what my OWN PIN is?

1234. Also, obvious codebreakers

I have also had the password be 1111 for one personal safe when I bought multiple... As 1234 didn't work. So I got lucky trying 1111.

the player's PIN is 1234.

I have never seen 1111 work, in my experience, which isn't to say you're a liar- NPCs will always only ever have one code, and I *assume* this applies to the player character as well, as they have the same traits that NPCs do (i.e. height, build, fingerprint)

There is a setting in the Developer section (if you have turned those on) where you can override passcodes. The default player passcode is always 1234 unless it is overridden with the Developer menu setting.

See here for how to turn that on/off: NEWS POSTED Tue, October 10, 2023 Investigations #1 - https://steamcommunity.com/app/986130/eventcomments/3882723820582786305/
There's an entire list of different things including much more advanced weather settings.

This was only encountered when I bought multiple safes for my apartment. The other safes purchased were 1234 but one of them was different.

You're right I was misremembering.... possibly. That's not to say I was lying. But the code is now 0000 instead of 1111. Or maybe it was 1111 back when it happened initially. The more I think about it, the more I think it was 0000 back then, too. Because as a gag I think I was going to go 0000, then 0001, then 0002, etc but 0000 worked. I was streaming it at the time and had a video but it was over 60 days ago so it deleted from my archive. I checked before posting this reply.

However, I still have the save file. So I just loaded it up but I only had one safe in there. Its passcode is 1234. I felt I could recreate the issue, so I bought 2 more safes and placed them. Both of the new safes had a passcode of 0000 while the other safe had 1234 as the code.

You can potentially recreate it as well if you buy a safe and place it on an angle in the corner. Like preview a safe to buy, go to a corner, rotate the safe so its on an angle with the corner and not flush with the wall in the corner having the two back edges of the safe touch each of the walls that make the corner, and buy/place the safe. It used to bug out and give me a wound clue like I was inspecting a body when interacting with the code pad, but that doesn't seem to happen anymore. Although, I only spent a minute doing this. since it worked immediately and I was able to get the above screenshots.

Anyways, OP try 0000 lol

lol... so I figured I would load a more recent save that didn't have any safes in it, for posterity, and the wound thing came up like it used to and the safes(bought 2) both had the passcode of 0000. Then the store bugged out and safes weren't listed anymore after I put both in storage to buy a new fresh safe. Also, the ones in storage weren't there and the room inventory wasn't listing the safe in the room.

I don't really have time right now to play around with this more and go deeper. But I was able to grab screenshots. Pretty sure placing the safe on an angle in the corner, like I described previously does this. But not entirely sure.

Also, sorry for double posting.

I've never honestly tried putting more than one safe or cruncher in my apartment. I would guess because a safe can only have one password and then you're adding more so it can't have the exact same password...

I mean, why can't it?

I'm sure I've seen multiple NPCs use the same passcode.

I've never seen two NPCs that live in the same apartment use the same passcode.

There's only ever one safe per apartment or business assigned to one NPC only.

It seems like one of those coding limit things honestly.
