The Correct Murder Weapon

There needs to be a clearer indication of which weapon the murder weapon is. I've solved two murders in a row in which I was told I picked the wrong murder weapon.

The first was a rifle hidden under a desk with bullet casings by the nearby window overlooking the crime scene matching the caliber of the rifle and caliber used in the murder. It seemed a brainless choice, but nope. Wrong weapon I'm told. I had searched the entire apartment and it had taken forever to find the one hidden under the desk, so I don't know what I missed.

The second time the murder was committed with a "slashing weapon". It was done by a coworker so they were gracious enough to leave fingerprints on a personalized gloating card next to the body. I track down their workplace, get their name, find their apartment, and there's three or four knives laying around the apartment.

Okay. I guess I'll check her person. If one's on her, that's probably the weapon.

So I went to arrest her at her place of business and cuff her and she's holding BOTH a katana and a knife. This is almost comical at this point. A knife is really more of a stabbing weapon, I'm thinking, right? So it must be the katana, which is better described as a "slashing weapon."

Nope. Wrong murder weapon again. Am I missing some vital piece of information that would have told me which specific weapon it was?

first of sniper case weapons seemt to be bugy even if you have the right weapon

but yes the game is missing a way to determin the exact weapon if you have more than one wich you often have if its a slash/stabbing weapon
but you can also find more then one firearm that could fit, so it would be nice if one could check for blood on weapons or if the firearm got shoot recently

Sniper cases can be annoying, I had a guy get killed in his work break-room found three separate rifle round bullet holes two in the window one in the door behind him but he died to a pistol with the pistol on him with no other fingerprints but his on it.

The guy that shot the three rifle rounds from across the street missed, got pissed and decided to walk across the street, up seven flights of stairs to just gun him down with a pistol.

The only time I've had a successful murder weapon choice was when the murderer left it behind at the crime scene.

I just solved a sniper case and got everything right but the weapon, it was a case filled with bugs since the beggining (the game wouldnt say where the body was, I had to look it up in the news)

Iv had it where I found knife with killers fingerprints on it next to the body (they died of bladed weapon) and it was not the murder weapon

I just did the business card case and I found the murder weapon on the ground next to the body. My trouble was finding "a piece of evidence that ties them to the scene" where I used the weird business card with the murderers prints and it did not count.

Yeah I just found a sniper kill where the killer had purchased the rifle 2 hours before the kill according to the sales receipt, found the expended cartridge in their apartment and the rifle next to the window with their prints on them (which was accepted as evidence placing them at the crime scene) - the entry wound matched and they didn't carry any other weapon. Still got a fail on the murder weapon, for the third murder in a row. Pretty sure it's bugged right now, I'm on the experimental branch however.

You have to select their finger print on the card, not just the card.
