A couple questions about sniper murders
I have been away form the game for a little while so when it comes to the sniper murders I have a couple things I may be missing.
Firstly when filling in the report, how do you place the murderer at the scene when they shot with a sniper rifle. This may be a dumb question and the answer is obviously "You can't so you don't get that one" which if that is the case it make sense I just thought I would ask in case I am missing something.

Also I found the killers apartment, searched it and found no weapon. I assumed they had it with them so I left and returned later when they were at home. I bribed my way in and found the sniper rifle in the bathroom. Shoots the same kind of bullet the victim was killed with. Had the suspects prints all over it. So when filling in the report for "Did you locate the murder weapon" I put the rifle in there yet when I turned it in the report said I did not find the weapon. Yet the killer was correct and there was only that one rifle in the apartment. So what went wrong there. Is there a way of linking the rifle that I am missing?

Sorry this was so long I just wanted to explain things as clearly as possible

There are two "scenes" for sniper cases, where the victim is and where the killer is. You want to place the killer at the killer's scene, not the victim's scene.

So if they shot from their own apartment, then the "where does killer live" and "evidence of killer at scene" would both be the killer's apartmenn location evidence?

Yup. A fingerprint on the rifle, for example, should work.
