Stalker sniper shooting from rooftop
So Im a bit stumped on this case, I got two victims after 2 days. The women have nothing in common, only thing is one is employed to their own apartment?? (apparently street food vendor), and the other has a contract with no one and has an annual of 0$ credits (very cool unemployed contract??). Suffice to say, both ladies were paranoid about someone stalking them and also had notes about someone messing with their mail outside their doors.

The killing is by the same street corner, trajectory is to the edge of a rooftop of a low building with walk able roof, its a squatter building. One can access roof by scaffolding and public stairs, but no security cameras to try and access.

The only clue about the killer? A cigarette for every kill at that spot on the roof with a fingerprint on it. Ive gone through the entire building getting fingerprints of people there, and at the buildings the victims lived in, but nope.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to find out who the killer is? Or is this one of those buggy cases with the sharpshooter update not working exactly as intended? Or am I meant to sit on that spot waiting a real life hour for the killer to show up again and take the third shot and get caught in the act?

maybe try getting security footage of the victims doors/mailbox. I read that "stalkers" tend to stand outside the victims house at some point before they kill and the tampered mailbox sounds like a potential lead

Could be that the killer shot from one of the apartments?
You can ask around if someone saw a suspicious person, which might give you a vague description of the killer.
You can also try to figure out where they got their rifle.

Sadly checked the security footage, and theres not been anything outside of their doors.
I might try brute forcing by visiting the black market dealer and look through their sales records of rifles to people.

i had a tiny map with a sniper case, there was a bullethole in glass, i found killer and gun, but not origin point of where shots were made from, i checked the entire building and along the view of the window they were shot from.

Case is solved but i never found where they was shot from, no connection between shooter and victim, checked e-mail, cameras, friends etc

oh I just read in another thread that reading newspapers can reveal evidence you might have missed too. maybe buy a paper and see if it leads to anything new

so i had my first Rooftop sniper too, what i can tell you

ask a few people nearby, someone maybe have seen some one and you get something like "i saw someone on the rooftop at ..., they looked ... they where mad"
you know than it was a rooftop nearby

with this if there are cams nearby you can check the time they gave you and see if in the hour bevor someone got on cam who could match the description

you will need to find the Weaponsdealer to see who bought a weapon

]You can plant a incapacitator grenade and a Bloodhound tracker on a spot that's eligible where you believe they are taking the shot

Pretty creative ideas you guys have! I had never considered using equipment and asking around like that, as well as using the newspaper. Granted the situation was resolved using handcuffs and baseball bat as an alternative "password" to enter the black market gun store, and quickly found the ledger with a rifle and ammo sale 2 hours before the first murder, and scanning the doorknob of the address showed the killer's fingerprint from crimescene.
