Locking up on lockpicking - can't get past tutorial

I just bought this last night and it has locked up twice now while I try to get through the tutorial scenario, both times during the lockpicking section. When it opens up the pop-up on how to lockpick it doesn't let me proceed or close the window and I can't seem to give any inputs either via my controller or keyboard. Thankfully, only the game locks up and not the entire computer, so I can alt-tab and kill the task in task manager but any ideas on how to proceed? The game looks pretty cool.

This is not really a fix, but you could skip the tutorial by creating a non tutorial sandbox game with a randomly generated city. That should bypass the lock picking pop-up but you will have to learn the game somewhere else.

Yeah...I'm finding the UI kind of confusing so I really wanted to play through the tutorial, actually. If I recall, you can play through the tutorial case without turning on the tutorial/guide itself. Thank you, though.

It looks like it's purely a UI+gamepad issue. When I switched to KBAM from the beginning, no problem. I think the game just doesn't know how to translate the one-time tutorial popup navigation to the gamepad for some reason. Maybe I'll report it as a bug in the game.
