as long as you dont find him, the killer will kill again, so dont close your caseboard, you dont get it back
If you have trouble finding the right person based on the clues you have so far that likely means you gotta look for something else or take a different approach.
The killer should pretty much always leave fingerprints somewhere in the crime scene, usually on a object they left near the body which is usually the main clue you use to identify the correct person (unless its a sniper killer, those leave their evidences at where they took the shot from) . Most other clues just help you narrow down for where to start looking but won't be enough to find them.
Usually the killer will be a person the victim knows, so it'll be one of the people you can find in their address book. If they lived with someone else you gotta find out the victim's handwriting to figure out who wrote what in there.
It's also helpful to ask around people if they seen anything, usually they point you towards some vague time and location related to the murderer. If you have multiple suspects and enough information for them to recognize they will help you find the correct person. They won't outright identify them as "yeah that's the guy" if you show them the killer, but usually they'll give you the exact same information you got when you asked if they seen anything strange.
