Help with Side Jobs
So I'm still learning how things work with this game, and I'm having difficulty with almost every side job I pick up. There just seems to be a ridiculously small amount of info given on many of them.

A couple of examples:

I pick up a theft job. Info given: green eyes, fingerprint 'F' type, lives at building x. OK, sounds like a bit of work, but do-able. I break into the building security room, print out all residents, pin all with green eyes. Next stop, City Hall, government database, check all the names I have. Nobody has fingerprint F. Dead end. I'm pretty sure I didn't miss anyone, so bug or am I missing something? I dump the case.

I decide to pick up a 'Photograph' case that offers very little money, thinking it will be easier while I wait for a murder to happen. Pick up info: long red hair, blue eyes. That's it. No work place, no residence. What am I supposed to do? Print out every single resident in the large town I'm playing, in the hopes that there will only be one person with red hair and blue eyes? Nope. Not doing that for 850cr. Dump case.

The next one is even worse. A fingerprint type and a height. Wtf?

By contrast, I've solved every murder so far. I get that this is early access and I like a challenge but surely the side jobs should be easier than the murders? Am I missing something obvious? Other steps I should be taking? I'd appreciate any advice.

Also, a question. When are new side jobs generated? Is it only at the beginning, when you setup the sandbox town? Or on a daily basis or what?

Fingerprint and building is pretty easy but potentially tedious depending on size of the building. You can scan the doors of every apartment until you find one that has the matching fingerprint type and then investigate the residents. It's not all that clever but it works.

For the others, the pay scales based on how much information you get and the type of job. Higher paying jobs give you less to go on, personally I dump any that gives data that's neither very actionable or specific (e.g. a very common description like long black hair, average build, no facial hair) but sometimes I'll keep one around if it's something that might be unique enough to pan out later (one time I kept a job looking for someone with long green hair along with some medical notes, green is uncommon enough that I could realistically look into anyone who matched that physical so it wasn't useless). Still if you want more reliably usable information pick jobs that don't pay so much.

Side jobs do get added to the boards over time, though evidence for things like stolen items cases or infidelity is generated at game start so once a few days have passed there won't be any prints to go off. That's only a problem for the stolen items, infidelity relies more on written evidence anyway which will hang around forever.

Thanks for the reply. It never occurred to me to scan doors for prints. That's a good tip.

I think I was having a run of bad luck with the jobs, as I've now picked up several in a row that had more info and I was able to solve them.

I've also figured out that the databases are a bit glitchy. Sometimes when you type in a name or initial nothing at all comes up, but if you exit the database and go back in, they appear.
