Shadows of Doubt Mod Support
We have just implemented initial modding support with the following tools:
  • A text editor tool - which you can use to add new text to the game for new citizen chatter, conversations, v-mails and more. Different dialog can be triggered based on citizen traits and situation. This is actually what we use to get text in the game. You can download it for free here[colepowered.itch.io]
  • An in-game city editor - for now this will only give you the ability to rename buildings and streets and decide where you want to place the buildings but we hope to expand it in the future

There is documentation on how to use the above and more, that we will be continuing to expand upon whenever we add customisability to the game here[www.notion.so]. We also encourage people to share the text they create on Mod.io so that others can engage with your awesome creations too. The Shadows of Doubt page is here[mod.io]

Then we also have a Mono branch that you can access by doing the following if you want to play with more extensive mods made by the community:
  • Right click on the game in your Steam library
  • Select properties.
  • Click on Betas
  • Click on that dropdown menu and select Mono

is there a mod for firearm use yet? Im tired of having a "search warrant" for someone and when I go after them i have nothing to fight back except my fists or baton.

Why not just use steam workshop instead of other services?

Hello.
I have a problem with the achievement "Stun every citizen at least once"
It's just torture. I really liked your game, I told all my friends who love detective games about it.

But this is an achievement....
In general, I wrote down every citizen in the city on the board. And he noted everyone he stunned. And in the end it turned out that it was necessary to turn off murders in the city!!! How can I stun a dead person?!

Please rework the achievement. Or add to the description that you need to disable the killer. Hours of my life went to waste.

Make it an option to stun 90% of the inhabitants, at least. But not everyone.

Question because I just couldn't find it anywhere in the documentation:
Where exactly do I actually put in the bundles made in the DDS editor? I wanted to play around with it but I have no idea if I put it into the wrong place, did something wrong in the editor or if I just didn't encounter it yet.

Unrelated but I wanted to help:

Yeah I kinda thought the same when I saw that.
It's quite a task but it turned out to be very doable. The way I did it was:
1. Use the city editor to make the smallest town possible (city hall, diner, office tower and one fathoms building). Set everything else to parks. Turn off murders, start with max money and lockpicks, set difficulty to easy and turn off all negative effects.
2. Go into the city hall and use one of the crunchers to get into the citizen database. You can find every citizen by searching for [ ] (spacebar) and a single letter. That'll give you every citizen by first letter of their last name. This is quite a monotonous task so its best to put up some videos to watch on the side lol. (the database behaves kinda odd with scrolling up and down, make sure you always scroll back up all the way before entering a new letter.)
3. (Optional) Gather some sync disks and gear to make your job easier. Can be done concurrently with your main task by stealing stuff while you're at it.
4. Sabotage every alarm on all residental floors (you can skip all the offices) and break into every apartment to beat up everyone until they drop. (Best done at night when almost everyone goes home to rest)
5. (Optional) Go through the people's files to better keep track of everyone who lives in that apartment and cross them out on your pinboard as you knock them out. Also get their keys in case you need to come back because you missed someone.
6. Beat up everyone on the streets. Dodge getting hit by staying out of range until the brief moment where you yourself attack. You may attract the attention of a lot of people at once but its fine if you have a good weapon and dodge everyone. If someone has a gun and you can't guarantee you can knock them out quickly its best to bail. Make sure to keep track of everyone you beat up.
7. Once you've beaten up everyone you could find there likely will be a handful left you didn't run across yet. Do your typical investigation stuff and ask around to figure out where they are.
8. Once you crossed off everyone on the list save and quit the game. (The achivements can take time to trigger ingame but quitting triggers them immediately.) If you didn't get it you gotta go through the database and pinboard again to make sure you didn't miss anyone. It sucks if you have to do it all again for one random guy you missed but at least it's much easier the second time with all the keys and upgrades you now have.

It may take a couple of hours but its totally doable. Tough I do agree it really sucks to have an achivement so large in scope you have to set up specific conditions and grind for an afternoon to make obtaining it even remotely reasonable.

I want to see a thief sim conversion mod for this game in the worst way. As well as ways to keep our trophies or sell to live better and so on. The game has ALL of the mechanics baked in for being one of the best thief sims ever. You can even add stuff like extortion thanks to dialogue mechanics and finding information out about people that are possibly criminal.

You can play the game without being the worst criminal to ever live? Didn't know that
Is it really that hard to just use the workshop?
