Droning sound?
Anyone know if there's a way to turn off the droning sound in the background? It's connected to the other SFX but I don't want to turn off everything that goes along with it just for this one annoying sound. I don't even know what it's supposed to be.

Not sure what you're talking about, unless you're talking about the sound that plays only when you're indoors.

I think that's either supposed to be an air conditioner, or to quote Backrooms,

“If you’re not careful and you noclip out of reality in the wrong areas, you’ll end up in the Backrooms, where it’s nothing but the stink of old moist carpet, the madness of mono-yellow, the endless background noise of fluorescent lights at maximum hum-buzz, and approximately six hundred million square miles of randomly segmented empty rooms to be trapped in."

While not exactly the same noise, I think the intention is for the game to have its own droning noise to give a feeling of dread and doubt, to have the same feeling as Backrooms but in a different scenario, knowing that the person you're looking for could be just on the other side of the wall you hear these noises coming from. (Or in the case of backrooms, something about to kill you.)

A lot of horror games tend to have droning noises, and I think this is a way of giving some horror feeling to the game without it outright being classified as one.

Yeah, not getting a sense of dread, it's just slowly driving me insane. I didn't think about where specifically I was hearing it, it just felt like it was all the time. I'll try to pinpoint when I hear it.

I might be talking about a different sound then, cause the one I'm referring to only happens indoors, and then only in specific (seemingly random) parts.

I have the same audio issue. It's like you're sitting next to a console in Half-Life 2, it's ominous and doesn't seem to go away no matter where you are.
