Game Not Responding? (SOLVED)

Is anyone else having issues with the game not responding upon opening? I've tried to start the game five or six times, restarting steam and everything in between with nothing

Edit: I meant to update sooner but I managed to get it working right after i posted this but I figured I would leave it up in case anyone else had the same issue

Stuck on loading screen (hourglass) here on Windows 11. It does start on Linux, tho.

Hi there! Apologies about this, I'm trying to track down this problem asap, would anybody who's experiencing this issue be able to share their log files with me?

It's the file titled 'player.log' and you can find it at C:\Users\<user>\AppData\LocalLow\ColePowered Games\Shadows of Doubt

If you can, it might also be worth sharing the Player-prev.log

Edit: I've reverted the experimental branch to the last version, if you wanted to play while this gets sorted. I'll be pushing out a new patch as soon as possible.

it seemed to resolve itself for me. After clicking to start the game it appears to freeze for a moment at the hourglass and as long as i don't touch anything the game will load after a minute.

It can take a little while sometimes, especially on APUs like the Steam Deck. After you've loaded it once, it should be faster the next time.

Same here. Just purchased and done a fresh install, was excited to play. Won't load. Stuck on the hourglass.

i9 13900k, 4090 and 64GB ram on Windows 11 if that helps at all. :)

Just to follow on from my last comment, I swapped to the experimental beta branch and the game loads

I'm still lacking any log files from this issue, and I can't replicate on any of my machines. If anybody experiences it and you have a spare minute or two, sending them my way would be super useful.

Once I get those I should be able to see what's going on and get a new patch out.

Tried to open your link but it is flagged by Steam. Probably why you are not getting any responses or files in return.

I just did a fresh download and it will not go passed the hourglass no matter how long I allow it to think or how many relaunches I do.

Not sure what specific data you are looking for but it would be wise to find out why your link is flagged.

looks like an email adress, so you can just write it down manually if necessary.

I was able to get this game to load after

setting the program to always run as admin
deleting/disable steam overlay

launched to menu after clicking any key (normally where it froze at)

Thanks this is good to know!

I've got a potential fix coming in this week's experimental patch, but it's based off googling things as I can't replicate it, so I'm flying blind there so to speak.
