Why are people in this society all chronically late to work?
I swear everyone leaves for work an hour or more later than theyre supposed to, shops dont open for hours after theyre supposed to have opened, its incredibly annoying when i wait for like 2 in game hours for this character to go to work so i can kick his wife and he just decides not to go into work that day for some reason. even more annoying when the pawn shop owner decides not to go into work for a week straight. Why do they do this???

there was a bug with offices and workers not going there. Are you on the experimental version?
they haven't pushed the patch to the stable yet afaik. But yea, expect there to always be some late starters. Its more 'go to work at this time' not 'be at work by this time'. And if its far enough away, it could take a while. Smaller cities probably help with this problem.

The NPCs leave for work when their shift starts, and NPCs evidently have no sense of urgency, so they take their sweet time walking to work. In large / very large cities this means businesses are often open a few hours later than usual.

There was a bug (Recently fixed on the experimental patch) that caused NPCs to get stuck in a loop of picking up and putting down an object, preventing them from going to work.

I'm not on the experimental version, no. the problem is they just refuse to go to work. I'll literally be watching someones door for them to leave to go to work and they just screw around for a few hours before leaving for work. they arent stuck on anything, they just love being late lol. It can't just be me having this issue right?

It's not that they're late on purpose; their decision making is extremely simple and there was a bug that has been fixed in which the civs get stuck repeating cycles of random tasks. They never got the "idea" to go to work, and because a civ only knows their workplace and work schedule when they have the associated held items, they never went to work.

NPCs for whatever reason don't actually KNOW where they work, they merely figure it out upon picking up their wallets / other associated objects I believe.

Anyway, switch to the experimental patch. It fixes this.
