No one shows up for work
Not sure how it is for everyone else but every office is empty 24/7 and is always closed. Dinners, bars, stores etc have people coming and going a lot (for the most part) but Offices even offices where I know someone like the victim or their spouse works will never have anyone in it which is a shame because talking to people who know the victim or their spouse is really fun even if it's very basic right now.

As a side note written down schedules never seem to be accurate though admittedly the only people who I've tried to scrutinize the schedule of are either victims who obviously can no longer show up to work, or their spouse whose schedule has been completely up-heaved due to recent events. I just find it weird I was able to prove someone's innocence by seeing on the security cam of their job to see they were working a shift they weren't scheduled for. Not that that can't happen in real life, it's just why give us work rota's and schedules if they're not accurate.

I think the schedules are probably intended to be (relatively) accurate, but may break down due to problems within the simulation. There could be bugs that affect the pathfinding (e.g. citizens getting stuck on their way to work and thus never arriving there), or with the scheduling itself, or both.

One thing to check is that some people work only on certain weekdays (at least according to their work rota, I never verified if that's actually implemented in their schedule). Some businesses may also have odd working hours.

But if - as you report - every office is always empty, then that's definitely a bug.

I've seen people in offices. I had a photography job for which I got an office pass from the receptionist, then walked up to the dude, snapped pictures from behind, then for good measure I hopped on his desk, crouched down, and snapped a pic of his face while he stared at me.

Then I ran like hell as he opened fire. XD

Havent seen a single person come even close to a office once think its bugged or simply not even programmed to work. The npcs dont look stuck or even confused on the routine they got just think the offices stay empty. Some stores dont even get filled with npcs ever

they do seem vacant most of the time, and it may only be some of them.

though one time im pretty sure some guys wife was the murderer, i only knew where she worked so i waited there. sure enough she arrived as well as everyone else who worked at the office.
They did a full 9-5 day. they'd go out for lunch and toilet breaks.

i was right about the killer, she had no home to return to given it was a crime scene. so she just loitered in a burger joint until it was time to go to work again.

Sounds like a pretty massive bug then ive loaded two different seeds up and not one office was ever worked. Not even the ones id randomly look into just for curiosity

of course as soon as I posted this I saw people actually show up to their office job not once bu twice for my very first time lol. Side note to this: Using someone's computer without a guest pass (or maybe even with one) should be an illegal action. It's very funny to walk into an office building with the receptionist logged in, sit in their lap and dig through surveillance and employee logs then walk out lol.

Yes, definitely. When you get a guest pass, the NPC even tells you "don't touch anything", but then they don't mind you rummaging through file cabinets and using everyone's computers. Makes it extremely easy to obtain information once you've got the "Beauty" sync disc. If no one's there, you can break in, and if someone's present, you obtain a guest pass.

I've noticed something about it. SOMETIMES it comes from this: if you stole the key of that workplace and left without locking the door back, it will glitch this way. The first thing an employee does when coming to work is unlock the door. It seems scripted that way. If they can't unlock the door, it seems they just don't come in. I locked the door back at several occasions after noticing it, and people started showing up again in a normal fashion.

It worked several times, but sometimes it's not enough and certain workplaces are particularly glitched this way, especially pawn shops and some diners.

Because they say this I just do my best to not be seen picking through files- I know there's no punishment but I can't in good faith exploit the NPCs like that for immersion purposes.
