How to drink water in my apartment?

Is there any way to get water from my sink or water cooler in my apartment?

I was never able to use any watercooler in this game. The do give me a "Drink" prompt, but when I click the respective mouse button, the prompt just flashes red, indicating that the action can't be performed for some reason.

I made a mental note to try and approach the cooler with a glass in my hand, but I haven't found glasses in the vicinity of a cooler ever since, so I can't tell if that's what the game expects. The water coolers may very well just be bugged.
