How to find a passcode when there's no notes...
So I'm trying to get someone's passcode. But I can't for the life of me find a way to get it.
I've not found a handy logged in computer that tells it to me (love those people leaving their profiles right there).
Can't find any notes.
I've tried their birthday and their roommate's.
I've gotten pretty much everything about them except the passcode. And it's frustrating.

Do they work in an office? You can go on CCTV cameras to identify which cubicle they work in, and grab their passcode from their PC when logged in.

If not, you can try a few different very common codes:

count up from 1
count up from 5
count down from 9

For some reason a lot of civs make this their code.

Most houses contain a "don't forget your code!" message.

Worst case scenario, buy a code breaker, and hack into their home PC. Passcode is in there.

I've checked their work, and they don't seem to have a specific office/desk. And no system was logged in with their info showing.
No code notes at their work or home for them.
Like I said, tried the birthdate thing.

I'll get the random increasing/decreasing number thing a try.

I know I can use a codebreaker... I just would like to figure out if there's other ways to get it without just "cheating" it. :p

Hey, a codebreaker is probably the least "cheating" thing you can do in this game.

The government database exists. You can literally solve any and all cases from that computer alone

I love the government database. That's made so many cases super easy. lol
But I mean, in theory you still need to be able to break in and access it without getting caught.

Except in my current game, there's an office in the government building that doesn't have cameras aimed at it and where nobody seems to wander. So I've been able to sit there and get tons of data. lol

Anyway, I finally caved and used a codebreaker to get into the person's safe, because nothing else seemed to work. Their code was just some random number.
Open the safe and what do I find? Nothing but a note... which had the person's $#$%@! code on it. lol

It's just an instant win button. Im opposed to it in every capacity

Hilarious as this is, I have to think that counts as a bug! Codebreaker was likely the right call in this specific instance.

I mean, could be. But then that's one of the things with procedural generation. Sometimes things like that happen.

I've found offices where a desk was basically walled off by the partitions. Apartments where there's a table in front of a doorway. Etc...

A good one to try when you are stuck is using the persons year of birth, or their partners year of birth. I once made a blind guess this way and it was pretty satisfying. I had more than earned the contents of that safe, which was a note with the code on it.

Well that explains why I had to guess in the first place.
