Big fps issues
So everyone knows by now that this game is heavy to run. (I saw something about forced raytracing?) Not that I can even use raytracing since i'm playing with a 1070, but I was really surprised when I first started the game and had such a low fps. Inside buildings it's ok. 40-60 fps. Still on the low end but playable. But oh man, if I go outside into the streets, I drop down to 10-20 fps.

I know the issue is my 1070. But then again, I can run most other games on my 1070 with ease. Next to that, I got more than enough ram and my cpu is one of the latest ones.

So this brings me to my question. Is there any ways except for the obvious ones (lowering settings, lowering resolution to 1080p) to boost my fps? I would love to play this game, but playing at 20 fps in even some buildings is just unplayable. I don't want to refund this game if there is a way to raise the fps to at least 60?

Similar issue. 1060 gtx, i7 CPU, 16gb DDR 4 ram. 20FPS max on lowest settings. if i lower the resolution, it improves it a little. Only game that has this massive performance issues.

Playing on a GTX 1070 as well. Runs 30 fps outside, and 40 fps indoors. Playing on Ultra settings in the biggest city. GPU usage around the 80's and 90's. CPU usage is very low though. Like less than 10% cpu usage in some cases. I7-8700 btw. Oh yeah, and there was a GPU driver update a while back allowing ray tracing to run on non-rtx cards.

GTX 960, run fine with minimum setting. My HDD is the one who take all credit for bottlenecking.

i9 12900k, 1070ti OC, 64gb ddr5 ram, i get about 90fps outdoors and 45-50fps indoors, graphics set to high/ultra It's definitely the game itself not being very optimised for GPU's

Then I really don't know what's going wrong on my end. Seems like I got about the same specs as everyone else here but way way lower fps.

Try checking the performance guide, it still lags like ♥♥♥♥ for me but its way better than how it used to be

stop listening to ppl with 5k pc and a 4090 telling you to upgrade pc , i have a 1060 6gb i5 8600k 16gb ram and im playing all games 60fps + , Monster hunter ones , WWE from this year , SF6 , 144fps WoW at max , ppl need to understand that some developers and games have trash optimization because they are indie or some small studio that doesnt work on that , if it works on the studio Pc's that cost 2k+ its fine for them , so they dont care if a 1060 runs at 20fps , meanwhile new games with or without FSR i can run em easy with a 7+ years old pc.

This game ran fine for me before the update, now it's barely playable. If I try and view security footage in a building, it's literally a slideshow.

I think the 1070 might be fine but you have to pick your battles, and 1920*1080 would be your max resolution, and i would be looking at even smaller than this if you want to play this game with any sort of reasonable fps and not hover at 95% GPU utilization. Even then, i would not expect 60fps on this game from it.

I had a 1070 before upgrading, i am sorry to be that guy, but it's just not any where near adequate for newer games. works fine for many things that are not GPU intensive like 4x games, and on moderate (sub 1920*1080) resolutions.

But this is a GPU intensive game.

4090 is obviously overkill, but i will say that with a 13th gen processor, a lot of ram and a 4090, this game is utilizing a fair portion of the machine, playing on 4k, 144htz with max settings.

Before and after the update was a major change in fps for me too; my PC is kinda low-end already but could run it at least at 30fps, but I'm down to 10 on the street with frequent freezes coinciding with GPU spikes, 1060 tho older fx-8300

I've played the game after a GPU upgrade: not much improvement.
Afterwards, a CPU upgrade really helped out with my FPS.

Could just be from the combination of components that I use.

Highly doubt MHW runs a 60 FPS on that rig, and but WoW is an old ass game, WWE games looks bad and have barely anything to calculate, same for SF6. It's stupid to compare games that are nothing alike.

No doubt this game have serious optimisation issue, but a 1060 in 2024 is almost a decade old and IS outdated. Absolutely no way to get 60 FPS in any AA/AAA game with that. Of course most people don't have 3-4k to throw on a PC, but at some point stop being that deluded

In the meantime I've upgraded from a 1070 to a 4070 but I haven't tried the game yet. I refunded it last year right after I bought it. I imagine I could run at at least 60 fps in the streets but I am currently not in the mood to buy and play this game sadly.

I was having bad frames, and I bumped my settings down to medium and seemed to fix mine. also looking better without all of the crappy grain and filters. i would recommend messing around in your settings. I've got a 1660, i5 13600k
