Prove they were at the scene. Fingerprints only?
Are fingerprints the -only-way to prove a suspect was at the scene or are there other evidence that would work?

I'm working one case where I can not find any suspect prints at the scene. (this was a crime I interfered with the murder in progress, before it succeeded.)

Heel prints and notes written in their handwriting seems to work as well. Shell casings work also, if you find them.

Calling cards work, assuming you establish their prints are on it, like a toy car. CCTV would also probably work if it could ever record the murderer.

I have tried both shell casings and CCTV, neither counted, it seems only Calling Cards or Fingerprints (havent tried heel prints but its such a pain to find a match its just not worth it)

Which is a pity, I really do hope the devs let CCTV count eventually... I even caught the murder shooting the victim in the video but apparently thats not proof

Darn, I have a shell casing, but I guess that wouldn't work then?

Heel print... that might be something to go off of.

Thanks for the info!

I've tried the shoe print, the shoe itself, the bullet casing, the ammo box... none of those have worked so far. There is no calling card, either, nor any note that I can see. But I wonder if I may have interrupted these things from being left behind.

I had that kind of case earlier (killer's calling card only had the victim's print on it), so I submitted the killer's fingerprints on their weapon as evidence they were at the scene. It apparently worked.

hopefully the evidence will get fleshed out down the road, right now seems fingerprints are the most reliable way to catch them

UPDATE: I found her prints on the gun, but then I thought... I wonder how well location is tracked... so instead I turned in the prints from HER APARTMENT, not the crime scene. Annnd it's still worked. So I just needed her prints, not from any particular place.

I'm surprised there isn't the option to ask for an alibi in the dialogue choices. that's the first thing the police ask a suspect.

Location dont matter for footprint or fingerprint, there are all the same evidence, so any fingerprint work, but it need to be the killer print none the less. Same thing with the weapon, you dont need a fingerprint at all.
I did arrest the killer without taking any fingerprint the entire case, he as a weapon on him that match the wound of the victim, it work). I even use a photo of the bloody wrighting on the wall, and match the photo with the appartement killer, and the photo was good evidence. I did many test and as long the evidence is link to the murder it work.
