Put A Pin In It
I saw this written in blood on the wall at the murder scene of a stabbing victim. Thought it was funny in a morbid way. I'm still working the case so I don't know yet if it's some kind of clue. No question to ask, just thought it was worth sharing. Have any funny/strange things like this happen in your game?

Just finished that case.

For when you're done:

I didn't find the message to be relevant to solving the case; felt more like a bit of flavor. I assume it's something the victim used to say to the killer, and they got frustrated, so they finally killed them... or something along those lines.

Once you're done with the case, I'd be curious to hear if your experience was different.

I've seen blood writing on the walls in two different cases. The first time, the letters were so stretched out that I could not tell what it was trying to spell. The second time, I thought it said IM PAID, but a newspaper I later read claimed it said UNPAID.
Seems like the citizens of this city need to work on their penmanship.

For that second murder case, there was also a drawing of a weird circle in blood around the body.

Just finished a case with that same writing on the wall. It's just flavor for now, but might be something that will be fleshed out in a later update?

I also noticed that footprints are visible in the game and thought that it can be used as evidence, but they can't be examined right now.

in my situation, "it" was cut off, so I thought it said "put a pin in" and was racking my brain trying to decipher it. I solved the case without ever needing to acknowledge it.

Next time, maybe use
tags
?

Yes they can. Use the fingerprint scanner; it scans the footprint and tells you the shoe type and size.

yeah idk if I'd considered that a spoiler if it's not even a real function.

the first two letters of __ PAID are the initials of the victim written in blood

The fact that it's not a function is a spoiler in itself.

The message itself is not typically relevant, though it can sometimes give you a guess as to the killer's age range or relation to the victim. The handwriting style of the message is relevant. I have yet to actually locate a killer by their handwriting, but if you're at a dead end it might get you a lead if you can tie it to a coworker or friend of the victim.

Same, it turned out to be someone they worked with. One of the easier cases I've worked.

Another case I worked had a game of hangman to figure out the killer. It was in a wadded up piece of paper and I disregarded it at first. Wasn't until I ran out of other leads that I gave it some thought. Actually made solving the case pretty easy once I knew what it was for.

That sounds pretty cool.

I'm looking forward to seeing more murders...

Up to now, I've only done the tutorial and "Put a pin in it".

I had put a pin in it twice now. Both times I found the "I don't live here" fingerprint near the phone. Is this a hint for that or just coincidence for me?

That's a "corpo" killer. One of four types currently in the game.
