Yeah cameras are a great way to find the criminals but if the murders don't happen in buildings like most of the crimes I've ran into, this becomes useless.

Annoyingly a printout of them leaving the murder scene doesn't count as evidence they were there for the resolution but it is handy to track them down.

You could always break into the street CCTV.

Not all streets have cameras in random generation, in my map there is almost none. Which has main cases going for 3+ days.
