Probable Memory Leak
Myself and other players are noticing MASSIVE performance drops the longer the game stays open. There's also a consistent crashing bug where once the playtime reaches anywhere from 1-2+ hours of non-stop playtime, the next save attempt crashes the game. I've tested it myself and that's absolutely what's happening. Nearly half my playtime has been spent redoing actions I did because of this bug. I really need the developer to understand that a memory leak is extremely likely with the frequency and consistency of both the save crash and the performance degradation.

Quick tip, I've found that setting it into maximised window mode in the settings severely reduces the effect of the memory leak, so try that out.

Same for anyone else with this problem.
Tried all the settings already on both my rig and the laptop with no change. Thanks for the tip though!
No problem. I honestly thought that was gonna work, because it fixed it for me. Aw well, hope you can find something to deal with it, because I know how annoying it was getting the 10 second opening case board things.

Have definitely noticed a memory leak. After playing long enough, opening files takes forever.

Confirmed

Same.
City size doesn't matter for my game's sluggishness after a while.
Initially butter smooth gameplay. All resets when I quit and restart the game.
However, opening the map seems to kill some performance, oddly enough.

If it was a memory leak, you would run out of memory and crash.
This is more in the way of NOT freeing up memory but keep on "filling it" up

100% A thing, I noticed it too. Fix when I save and reload.

there is an obvious memory leak ye, notable if you grab whatev pirate version igg has (which I tested before buying through) think it's tied to the system used to pin things and keep track of npc knowledge as the lag on higher end machines there is extra notable when asking about other npcs.

When you save and reload to fix this it could bug murders though, when I was doing this for a while I wasn't getting any murders. Adding on to the suspicion this has to do with NPCs.

Not getting murders sounds like it could help some of the other bugged stuff given how I'm pretty sure a photograph target got murdered when I wasn't looking...
but yeah 90% sure it's from how it tracks people data, I had half a town in the tutorial case file logged on the one board without a reload and it was taking up pretty much all my 32GB RAM and like minimum 70% Vram on an old 1080Ti....

It's a nice game but you really do see some of the early access-iness at the moment.

my performance seems stable until i save and then performance begins to degrade. i didn't notice it much until i started an XL map.
