Item Storage?
Wondering if there's a place I can store items that I can't carry with the pathetic inventory size this game uses, which I'm totally fine with provided there's a way to store things we buy/find. I tried storing food in my apartment's fridge for later and it worked for a while until everything but the Synth Beef that spawns there normally disappeared. Wondering if there's any type of item storage I missed, and if there isn't any, PLEASE either make it so items don't despawn in the player-owned apartments or add storage containers.

Well, there's a safe like you had in the tutorial mission apartment, in some of the apartments you can get..though of course it's not very large. Or just the apartment, period -- I am unaware of if you can get burgled?

That's part of the problem, I assumed the apartment was a 'safe item storage' location as well, only to have all the food I bought and put in the fridge despawn after a couple hours.

Actually, there's a whole apartment decor & storage system (access the inventory while in your apartment, I don't think it works in the tutorial tho). Just got to it so I can't tell if it's infinite, large or small - yet, as far as I understood, I can keep whatever I want in the "building inventory"

I've been playing around with that, though I have reason to believe customizing my apartment corrupted 2 of my save games and made them unplayable. I haven't experimented with storing non-furniture items in that menu though, so I'll have to make a test save/backup and try it out.

In my experience of using the decor system "item" storage, if you buy a new apartment, which resets your previous one, then save and load, the void eats the items in the "item" storage.

So just be careful with it. I haven't done much testing with it outside of moving apartments because I keep all my stuff on display in mine.

You can buy some iron shelves, then look at part of the shelf and use the drop/place item to keep the item in the shelf in the world. You can otherwise drop it on the ground, go into room decor, find it in the items list, and click the little storage box icon above the still button. However I have had issues with pulling items out of storage that way.

dropping items in your apartment tends to work and i'm yet to run in to despawning issue other mentioned.

if you decide to move to a new apartment, you might loose items placed/stored around your old one. This only applies to placebale items from your inventory and other things in "items" decor category. You will not loose furniture when moving, it will be avvailable in your storage when you open decor/storage in your new apartment.
