I've found things while looking around in apartments, is there a store or any place that gives me money for it?

Yes, there's pawn shops. They have the stack of book icons over their buildings.

You can also sell stuff inside your apartment if you bought one by dropping it on the ground, and selling it under the items tab.

Pawnshops and Black Market Traders will buy basically anything from you. But in my experience the only thing worth selling is diamonds because you have pretty limited inventory space. The price of diamonds is weird, I've gotten between 700 and 3000 per diamond. Who knows what determines the price.

The prop gun sells just as much as diamonds, if not more. Much rarer, though. Trophies and watches also have a wide vary range but are in general much smaller than diamonds. Not bad if you have free inventory and nothing else to nab.

sounds like being a burglar will net you a quicker buck than actually solving cases :).

plus with this "simulated life" thing you can do it proper and make sure to break into their apartment while they are at work.

If it's open you can ask the clerk about the opening hours, iirc..

Pretty much just ask an employee or break into their office and check the work hours for the employees in the file cabinet. That said the NPCs are actually incredibly unreliable at showing up to work on time.

The employee hours at mine are 9:30 - 15:00 Monday - Thursday, 14:00 - 0:30 Friday - Sunday
But when asked what their hours are they say 10:00 - 0:00, every day.

Is there a way to stash stuff? My black market shop and pawn shop opens from Friday - Sunday, (it is Tuesday in game) and I found a diamond that is taking up inventory space.

You can drop them anywhere and they'll stay there. I prefer to stash mine at home, but I've seen a streamer stash his by a literal garbage bin like a hobo.

It's possible an NPC might try to take it if they see it, but I've never seen an NPC carrying a diamond

I would love if there was as way to set up strashes. (small containers that have a limited slot). and is saved as a note on the map and what it contains.

Pawn shops are bugged at the moment. They work very few hours.

That's less a bug on the pawn shop and more shoddy time keeping on the employee's part. It effects all businesses, not just pawn shops.

What happens is that an employee won't start to leave for work until their shift starts. They also only move at a walking pace (unless the weather is bad and the don't have an umbrella.) So if their shift starts at 10am and the live on the 16th floor on the far side of the city, they may not arrive at work until 3-4pm.
