What does difficulty do?
Playing the game on normal difficulty currently with some modified settings. What does difficulty change?

From what I know, it only affects combat damage and Social Credit needed to rank up.

It makes your carreer last longer. You will need more social credits to retire.

"Difficulty" setting is ONLY for how much damage you take. Nothing more at the moment.

Hmm, I changed difficulty to hard and the game became more dynamic, more security, side jobs I'd not gotten on normal( less info on leads as well), and murder cases that were harder to solve (also got one that was different, stalker type murder), I played 30 hrs on normal. 20 hrs on hard, I can't confirm any of this but this is what I've experienced, perhaps it was just luck or rngesus idk.

On extreme yes damage is increased but the muders definitely have less clues available. It gets pretty hard. If you put it on long game as well that will increase the amount of social credit needed to beat the game.

Dufficulty must affect databases, like theres will not be fingerprints of people without criminal records.
Also, underground weapon dealer must not write down exact names of clients.

BTW, when you get enough social credits to retire, is it automatic? Or can you still decide to ignore it and keep playing?

nope just combat damage exclusively

all of these replies are wrong lol i dont blame you for thinking difficulty does something but it is 100% entirely just combat damage taken and received
