Basement apartment, best apartment

I shelled out 30k for a fancy 17th floor apartment that doesn't do anything my previous apartment in a basement didn't, except that it has more space I don't need, doesn't have a great view because the other buildings are smaller, and the elevator ride takes a minute.
Surely this will be fleshed out to be actually worthwhile later, but how do you offset that PITA of an elevator ride? Can we just pretend that I took the elevator and cut to my flat? Or give me rocket boots :)

I have my 18th floor apartment and fully plan to deck it out completely just for fun, since I don't really have use for money. Though I do fully agree, the elevator ride takes FOREVER.

The elevator ride was my big worry. Definitely happy with a nice-ish 3rd floor apartment and being closer to ground level.

I would go to higher floors but I kind of made my basement apartment the way I like it so I don't want to move. Plus I picked that location for easy access to city hall, clinic, bar, and general accessibility.

Yep. The inventory menu has an "edit decor" button where you can buy/sell furniture, items, and roof/floor/wall types.

Yeah, when I bought an 8th floor apartment, I knew it would be more of a pain to get to. Sure enough, it is. I think faster elevators would be nice, but at the end of the day, the apartment is really just for immersion and roleplaying purposes. It's not really for anything else. Functionally speaking, an empty room where you can safely drop stuff on the ground and return to it later is all you need.

I don't know how randomized the location is or not, but mine was in the first basement level, taking a direct left from the elevator and down a hallway.

bump for fall damage SyncDisk, I send the elevator down to ground floor on arriving to my apartment then simply jump down the elevator shaft when its time to leave :)

I still live in a first basement apartment, with shower and bed installed in the middle of the room. I just run there, drop diamonds to the floor, sell it, shower => towel => sleep => continue to investigate :D

I got an aprtment on the ground floor, with it's own entrance round the back of teh building behind a fence. There's a few cockaroaches, and its right on the edge, but it's still pretty convenient.

Not entirely true.

You can sleep, shower, and dry yourself.

You can break into other people's apartments to use their shower/dry yourself, but I don't think you can sleep in their beds.

weird, im really having trouble finding my basement obode. Does it come with any furniture or just empty when you first get it? All apartment i see there dont have even a shower, and some do have shelves everywhere.
