Bug after tutorial

So after i turned in the evidence for the tutorial and get kicked out of my apt. I met with the lady to give me a key to the free apt in the basement of a new building. She goes through her dialogue and says here is the key, but no key appears and the apt she gives it to remains locked, and im considered trespassing if i go inside.

i have an empty inventory slot, ive reloaded the game, and re-verified files. i cant seem to progress without obtaining this key.

this has been reported a few times

the tutorial ends here, so if you want, you can start a new game in sandbox in the same city, it'll be the same experience except no starter apartment (that said i think there is a 'start with apartment' option

You need to unlock the door, look at the handle and right click (by default).

After you try opening the apartment it'll give you an option to unlock it with the key. The key doesn't actually appear anywhere. You should be able to right-click on the handle to unlock it.

I don't get the option of unlocking the door. Only lock picking it. Kinda frustrating since I found a bunch of sync disks already, id rather not have to recreate a game again.

I think its a bug. If you open a new case file it bugs out and you cant get the key.

Had the same issue, it's bugged but the rest of the game still works. FYI in my game with that bug, every new apt I bought would go empty itself and revert to unowned after loading back into the game. Currently a filthy rich, hobo detective.....
