Multiple causes of death?
I've had two cases now where the victim was both shot by something and stabbed by something. For example, when searching the victim of my current case, it says she has a buckshot wound, but then the cause of death shows as "slashed to death with a bladed weapon".

Anyone else had this happen? Is this a bug or am I supposed to assume that the killer used both a gun and a knife?

does it say she has a wound or does it say the cause of death was the gunshot wound?

if both are the cause of death you can probably select either weapon as the murder weapon

I haven't had a murder case do this, but I had a side case where they wanted to throw food on a target's face and photographic proof of it put under their door. Except the resolve form didn't want the photo and was just a normal humiliation case, somehow becoming a weird hybrid with a tail & seizure case.

And another quest where the lost item was a book, when you can't even pick up books.

So I guess you just have to find the killer with other means and take whatever weapon he has on him as the murder weapon. And if he both weapons on him then god help us all.

It said she had a gunshot wound, but that the cause of death was a bladed weapon

sounds like the actual murder weapon is the bladed one

sometimes enforcers like to shoot people randomly, could be from that, i've had roommates shot too for being at the crime scene

I had the same situation. "Entry wound" was 8mm pistol, but the analysis said slashed to death. It caused a lot of problems for me because two of the potential murderers had 8mm pistols in their homes with their fingerprints on them and the 3rd suspect had no weapons except a kitchen knife with her prints on it. I eventually settled on the 3rd suspect due to the autopsy report and having found a note in her apartment fantasizing about chasing her manager around with a knife. It turned out to be her and not the other two with guns.

Well now I'm curious where the gunshot came from in the first place.

I've got 2 guesses. The victim had an 8mm pistol on his person when he was stabbed. Dunno if it's possible in the game mechanics for the gun to have gone off in the struggle or anything like that.

2nd possibility is the Enforcers might have accidentally shot the corpse while I was examining it. I had gotten there first and they burst in and started shooting at me while I was next to the corpse. Who knows how detailed the simulation is.

What you mean "Accidentaly"? Enforcers shoot corpses for fun.
