Poison Murder Weapon

How do I find this? I found the killer, detained them, found poison in their pockets yet the poison that killed the victim was not this poison bottle?

Was their reason of death.

I've only seen a poison case once, but I think they have to use a syringe, which counts as the murder weapon. It's pretty unintuitive.

that makes a lot more sense now that i've heard it, i always looked around for like pills or food instead

I've had one where it wouldn't give me credit for finding the murder weapon whether I chose the syringe or the poison on my resolution form

Same, just handed the same thing in and save scummed many times to try and figure out what it's looking for, but to no avail. Either the game is bugged and think something ELSE is the murder weapon (like lipstick) or there's no right answer in the case of poison.

Be nice if the poisoned item would be in the victims inventory when you search them and maybe a way to test if it is in fact poisoned, Im on one of these right now, only done the initial search of the apartment.
