How would you find this person?
Side job, have to find someone and arrest them, the information given is:

- Fingerprints
- Height
- Shoe size
- Interest: weightlifting

I decided to skip the job, because that sounds insane, but it made me curious about if anybody's got creative ways of trying to find someone like that.

I could go through the phonebook and check each person one by one, which would guarantee I found my target eventually, but that would be extremely tedious (unless I got lucky early).

EDIT: Ended up retaking the job and found my target. What I ended up doing was going building by building, door to door, and scanning for prints until I found them.

I'd start off by trying to get the fingerprints off mailboxes, if I find a match i'd break into the apartment and look for shoe sizes and get their names, ask people at their job or their neighbors about them to try and get their interests.

If i couldn't get a match off the mailboxes I'd probably try again the next day and just keep checking fingerprints as I go about while doing another case.

Had a case where it only gave me their shoe size and that they loved music. kept that one on the back burner forever and would always check shoe sizes and made a list of people as I did other cases. When i found someone with that shoe size i'd ask their co-workers and neighbors about them.

Basically pick up another case and anytime you're doing something else keep them in mind. There's no time limit and you can hold quite a few cases at a time.

Well... we can go and start breaking into offices and look at employee records until we find someone with interest in weightlifting. No one said detective work is all glamour :).

"We are going to have to look at these records with fresh eyes Marty. All right? Like we're totally green."

Also, did you try asking people randomly pointing at John Doe's record? I wonder if they said it is not enough info, or they would give something to go on.

Wow... that's even more insane...

Thanks for the tips... I guess scanning mailboxes is at least a bit more fun than checking the database one by one, especially if I were to go through the list from the phonebook systematically.

Now I kind of regret reloading my save...

I'd saved just before taking the job, and I headed to city hall to start looking people up, but just as I got there, I got a notification that a new murder had happened (I've just finished the tutorial).

So I reloaded from before I took the side job and went to city hall, meaning to just focus on that, but no murder notification... guess it's random.

I guess that's a... more profitable way of doing it. Grab some loot while I'm at it. lol

I did, and yeah, they said it wasn't enough info.

Tbh (im not trna brag but im prety good at these cases.) this is one of the cases where i would do two things. Number one (and the one everyone else said) i would scan mail boxes bc thats esay. Number two there is a mechanic in the game where just by looking at someone you have an estimate of there height tall, short, etc. So you can just right clikc and inspect someone to see there height. and after (if i find the correct height estimate) i would try to ask the person for finger prints. And remeber to ALWAYS have cuffs. There op af.

Late game those missions begin to be easy. As you gather information through your investigation, you end up with enough info on everyone. Pretty fast you have photos, names, fingerprint of everyone in the city (most of). So when you pick those mission you have plentifull info already on the suspect.

But early on, those can be hard and time consuming. Personaly I quit the case and select another one if there is no good info to look at.

I just had one of these yesterday. Only in the world for less than 2 days game time (4 hours play time). It still feels like early game. Was given fingerprint, age, shoe size and interest violin.
Started off investigating the job poster. Checked everyone at their office and their partners. That was a nope. Checked everyone in their address book and their partners. That failed too.
Ended up checking every person in their building. Turned out it was their next door neighbor.
Ive been playing for about 80 hours, and after doing a bunch of these jobs, it's always someone no more than two degrees from the "victim".

I've learned that some side jobs just take FOREVER, which is fine. My immersion breaks when murders stop happening... over and over and over.

You can also check pawnshops for their sales ledgers. If someone has an interest in weight lifting, they may have bought a set of dumb bells.

I don't remember if pharmacies carry any steroids, but you might check their ledgers too.

Also of note, Double check the job listing for details- When you receive it from the job board it has some minor details, BUT, It updates after you open the briefcase/talk on the phone and recieve the target details, but doesn't actually inform you of that. It may include additional super valuable information.

I had a case where the only info I had was what building they worked in(the largest in my city), long brown hair, and shoe size 13. That's it. Was racking my brain for hours and following people home/from work with no success. Then I mis-clicked on the job listing and discovered the job listing had updated at some point without informing me- And had the person's whole name right there where it hadn't been before. Later testing is how I discovered it updates when you've made the call/opened the briefcase and got the target's info.
