Any ideas what to do?
I'm on a case with two murders. First one happened in an apartment. Killed by pistol or revolver. Some kind of demonic circle drawn around the body. A drawer open with an unidentified fingerprint. Footprints not belonging to the victim. Crumpled paper saying "Let's play. DÉNAAR -.-----"
Security footage showed a person possibly heading towards the victim's apartment just ahead of when the murder would have taken place. This individual's estimated foot size is much larger than those found in the victim's apartment though. Also saw the person by the victim's mailbox, but found nothing there. (All NPCs leaving the building walk right up close to the mailboxes, might have been nothing.)

While investigating the murder, another was reported. Also killed by pistol or revolver. Same demonic circle around the victim. "KM PAID" written on a wall nearby (reported by newspaper, so it is related to the case). On their body was a Lazarus pistol and their wallet, but inside their wallet was the birth certificate of another woman (went to her apartment, nothing relevant there. However, she was friends with the first victim).

I have found no v-mails with anything relevant, and I just don't know what to do from here. I feel like I've exhausted all options, but I'm obviously missing something.

Think on it a bit more and you will get the killer.

1. What was the name of each victim? Sometimes the "NAME paid" or the "let's play" messages are just initials or scrambled names of the victims, however sometimes they appear not to be. Perhaps there is clue there.

2. Foot prints, I am not sure. My theor is that prints are generated when someone steps into a dry area from the rain or into a corpse. Also I am not sure if the prints near a corpse might be from the cops checking out the place.

I have a similar case where the killer left boot size 11 prints on both locations. (or it was just 2 guards with the same boot size)

3. Try asking neighbors. Sometimes they say they saw someone suspicious and tell you a trait of the person.

4. I am not sure if weapons found "inside" the victim means the killer left it on them or whether that is what the victim carried.

5. Person carries the birth certificate of someone else? Are you sure? Never seen that before.

Thought I was thorough in my city directory search, but now I found what I was looking for! A. André! Cheers!

Seems Dénaar (from Let's play note) was an anagram for A. André and I was just bad at searching in the city directory! Thanks for the reply! And I will be better at asking residents for suspicious things!

At least you got a name with an accent which is quite rare in the city. I totally forgot about this paper as the body of the first vic suffered some glitch and i couldn't do a proper inspect on her and had to figure out which of the occupants it was. Then went through both's entire workmates and contacts list to match prints but none worked. Eventually one name clicked in the directory and surprise his prints matched on his door.
The funnier part of this is once i broke into the suspects home, the vent dropped me on top of his dead wife which he had also killed. I secured the information i needed and then proceeded to stalk his door waiting for him to come home next to a cop guarding the scene.
After a long while all hell broke loose and the neighbors door opened, shooting is happening. I walked down a floor chasing the armed guy who stops and it turns out it's our suspect. I cuffed him and he had the weapon, case closed.

Wow, that's a lot of work! But at least it ended up being eventful!
