My first case bugged? (Diary with info)

Tl;dr, my first case mentions a woman named Francesca, who I investigated. Turns out she's also dead, but I dunno who by or what happened. Died the same way as the first case I got when waking up; I found a diary from the first victim that suggests they knew the person in question, saying "I hope [Francesca] is safe. I want to go see her, but [Francesca] might be watching" and I'm wondering if there's somehow two Francescas, or if the game bugged a bit somehow?

Anyone got advice? I can't figure this case out and it's really frustrating me, I feel like I'm going in circles and either missing something or it actually broke somehow.

If you're stuck you can go to the town hall and print out Francesca's citizen report one one of the PCs in town hall, you filter by typing the first few letters of their name so it works well.

For murders, the thing that usually gets them is the finger prints in my experience.

Yeah I'm trying to follow fingerprints; I'll attempt to check out the Francesca murder scene again but at this point I think I've lost any chance of figuring out who it was. She had a prop gun but since she was also dead, I'm pretty sure she's not the murderer after all, but dang xD I feel stumped

Who knows, maybe I'll find something if I look around again, something I missed before

Update to this; No dice. I can't find ANY information and I'm stumped as hell...I think my story quest is just bugged or something. If anyone has advice at all that I can try, please share cuz this is frustrating. I found some good sync disks too, I don't wanna have to restart because a quest has seemingly bugged out and made a victim the killer too. (I tried submitting Francesca as the killer, but it was considered wrong, so either I'm REALLY missing something or what)

New update; Turns out there was two Franciscas. I found the murderer, but can't find the weapon she bought. I have sales records that prove she bought it, I just don't have it itself.

I searched the whole apartment, nada. Any tips?
