Funny Murder Story - The Grim Reaper

Before starting - i try to keep it short in terms of text , dont wanna post a whole paragraph. <- that went well.....

The Start / Location

So i arrived at the scene (the location wasnt that far from the city hall) , it happend inside a small flat that was on the ground floor (same level as the streets infront of it).
Anyway , the victim was a young male lying in the middle of a drawn circle of blood (i assume it was blood) , looked like a cult murder / ritual.

Finding Clues

Entering it was simple since the enforcer didnt pay attention , i started collecting the usual stuff from the victim and looking around the rooms. I soon found 3 clues in total about the murderer:

1 - shoe size / foot prints (12 , didnt belong to the victim)

Clue 2 and 3 were actually hidden very good...

2 and 3 - a crumbled piece of paper under a table (same room as the murder scene) near the wall (very hard to see in this case) + finger prints on it from the murderer (also very hard to find)

On the crumbled paper the murderer gave me a little riddle and of course like any cocky murderer a challenge. I dont remember it correctly , basicly he wanted me to play "Hangman" with him guessing the word.
After some more looking around the flat and finding no more clues i looked back on the paper and noticed it had added a "A" on one of the postions where the answer needed to be.
i thought maybe it was a surname or the surname of the murderer. (I never found out what the word or surname was or why the "A" was added).

The Twist
Chapter 1

After finishing up on the scene i wanted to go back to the city hall to gather more info , when stepping out on the street a half naked person (in his underwear) ran past me shouting for help.
I didnt think much about it after waiting for the person who was chasing him with a weapon (were i assumed it was a black baton , the same one we got as a detective).
I thought nothing of it and continued my walk down the street to the city hall , i dont know how long i was in there gathering info but i didnt find anything of real value (mainly checking random surnames that could fit my murder riddle).

Chapter 2


After that i wanted to go back to the scene once more when i noticed / or rather watched from afar that something was happening on the crossroads in front of the building.
Looked like the guy with the baton (turns out it was rather a machete / small sword) got his victim from earlier ( i didnt know what he did to him , maybe stole something or some other random shi.t a crazy person would do) , anyway he wacked his ass a second time and he fell on the ground.

Now things got very interesting , instead of wacking him unconscious like i assumed he kneeled down and drew in a matter of seconds the same damn circle like at my murder scene (that was literally inside the building he was infront of + the guy was also half naked and dead lol).

I tryed to chase his ass down but he phased though a wall near the scene and vanished sadly (pretty fast) , i checked the building where he phased though and found a couple open doors...didnt find him in there and lost him.

Chapter 3

After chasing and losing him i only remembered that his clothes were all black , he had a beard and that his hat looked a bit unusual , like a priest hat from the year 1800.
While waiting for the enforcers to arrive to secure the new scene i noticed a person nearby also completly in black , but he had a different hat and beard....might aswell question him if he saw something and if he wants to give me his personal info / finger prints.

Surprisingly Yusuf (the guy) gave me his personal information and was overall pretty chill with helping me (didnt see anything though) , he didnt gave me his fingerprints.

After getting everything from him i returned to the new scene and did the usual stuff with the victim , i didnt saw it at 1. but the murderer dropped again a piece of paper near the body with the same riddle as before which confimed to me that he also killed the other dude in his flat 5 meters away.
While gathering infos about the vitctim i noticed that Yusuf chilled a little bit down the street walking around and generally looked like he was waiting around watching me. (i didnt think much of it but i had some doubts about him and also his black clothes)

When done i went back and talked to that guy Yusuf again , but nothing different came from it. I went to the city hall for more info about our guy Yusuf and also about the new victim since he didnt gave me his fingerprints.

The Surprise

Alright , got my info i wanted about both of them but focused more on the vitctims infos like the workplace etc. , while doing that i also remembered that i wanted to go to the first victims workplace some time ago and never did.

Thought "welp lets do that then 1. so i dont forget / confuse anything further in this case" , started walking there and while doing that also remembered that i forgot to check what type of fingerprints our boi Yusuf has..."for ♥♥♥♥♥ sake...lets run back to the city hall then" and do that instead since i still had my doubts about him.

Turns out to my surprise (since he looked different than the guy/murderer i saw with my own eyes) that he has the same typ of fingerprints from both scenes!

Now some time has passed since all of that happend and since i spoke to him , i also had to buy some new handcuffs so it didnt make sense to run back first and check if he still was waiting around in that same street. ( i was sure he would be gone by now)

To my second surprise he was still around the same spot / place since last time , ez pz arrest , case closed.

Never found out his riddle or why he killed them , but looks like he changed his hat and beard after i chased him haha.
Sadly i didnt rescue the second victim when i had the chance , i just had to randomly intervene in the chase and even thought about that for a second at the time.

So, after reading what you said about the note I went back to the crime scene and found a similar one with a fingerprint. I ended up going to the city hall and trying out different combinations of letters. I found someone named James Burns 'who matched, my letters just so happen to be able to arrange to 'J Burns'', so this is a great clue for me. (Only printed out two!)

I also found shoe prints, originally I investigated their Dove match who had the same shoe size as the ones I found. This new guy also has the same shoesize!

I haven't made the arrest yet, I'll do that soon and update this post if it's correct.
