2. No taxis or subways , the world isnt "that" big , i play currently on the largest avaible option -> generally no cars or transport tech , only your feet (others need to walk too) , think of it like 1 huge city block in terms of size.
3. you can buy food and booze but you mainly eat it or drink it right at the location you bought it (diner , bar etc.) because you dont have many inventory slots at the beginning or a home/apartment for that matter (excluding the tutorial)
4. No delivery of any sort.
5. Yes you can sleep once you have the money for an apartment and have it decorated with furniture / you bought a bed.
6. You can shower , vomit in the toilet (when feeling sick , too much booze or milk) , sleep , use public phone booths / private telephone , use any computer . watch a murder happen in real time when being around one at the "wrong" time (or right time) , talk to any person you want to to ask questions like their name , finger prints for investigation etc. ( if they give them to you is up to them) and some more stuff prob. i forgot about.
Sounds promising. Sounds like it could use a lot more finer details and things to do though besides just work on cases and wander around.
You can use pay phones? Can you prank call people in the middle of the night? lol
Who can you call? Is there a phone directory with each NPC's address and phone number listed in it in the city?
Would be cool to go to restaurants and sit down to eat and go on dates to restaurants with chicks you meet (romance / relationship) and sex (could be censored with black bars that say "Censored" similar to old school Leisure Suit Larry games.
Strip clubs should added in. Doesn't have to show nudity but skimpy bikinis and girls in bunny suits or something would be cool and pay for backroom sex for $20 or lapdances for $10 with them (again censored) and this could give the character positive feelings. There should be (if not already included) something like a depression/stress meter that grows slowly over time while you work the cases or make mistakes while working on cases and this meter can be reduced by sex and booze and playing video games at your apartment.
Booze could give a major boost to positive feeling but take a major hit the next day when booze wears off. Addiction can become something if abused too often by drinking too much. A strong drink each day though would be fine. It would give you a good boost to positive feeling without a massive hit the next day if you drink one strong drink a day since that's not abusing alcohol.
Lap dances for $10 would give you a smaller boost than full sex with strippers. But either option would hurt stress massively if you're in a relationship with a woman. Breakups would also hurt stress/depression meter so you gotta keep your girl happy and spend some time with her going to like the park or skating or to the movies or restaurants. Or you can send her shopping by giving her a lot of cash if you want a night alone without her around.
Your apartment should have a game console with some basic mini games (think old Atari games from back in the day like Pong or Space Invaders) that you can play (also with a positive bonus to stress/depression meter).
And the character should be able to carry at least a pistol (no PI or detective goes around unarmed) and use it for self-defense purposes. if the player shoots any innocent NPC then it should be game over with your character shown being arrested and locked up in the jail. And if the city doesn't have a jail that you can visit then that needs to be included.
So much potential for this game. I'll keep my eye on it. I'm tempted to buy it and just might buy it today but I'd like to see a lot more content. Would rather buy it on my GOG account but saw the developer say they may release on GOG in like 6 months or longer from now when it's out of Early Access.
Anyways, it does seem to have a lot of potential to become something super phenomenal.
