But... as nice a this would be.
Don't...get your hopes up for it.
There would need to be soooo much structure that isn't there, additions that go against the theme and objective this game sets out to accomplish, and while some ambitious as heck modder might have the time and disposable resources to add stuff like that, given modding is a thing, ...I wouldn't expect the devs to take that direction, or ever be expected to.
1. Fixing the core to be bug-free and more optimized.
2. Adding the mod support.
Then the community will be able to mod it into anything and everything imaginable. The game already skyrocketed and attracted enough attention to allow for properly thriving modding community.
When modding appears I can assure you, we'll have mods turning the game into proper cyberpunk life simulation and total overhauls moving it into 1930s noire world... Whatever.
I see your point, but to be honest I do have hopes for this especially keeping in mind what Kind_Stone mentioned in his comment and I think is also confirmed by the developer that this will get mod support and the modding community will for sure add plenty of mods pushing it in this direction
I have a feeling this being early access that the story will progress, just imagine the next major update and what it could potentially bring, this is just the start IMO
