I did a stupid

I threw out (dispose/discard) the documents for a theft job, rather than place them next to the dumpster. Is there a way to recover them?

I did the same thing thinking it wanted me to put it in the dumpster. I can search through the bin but cant figure out how to pick it back up

Nope pretty sure if you dispose them they're ruined. Considering for some reason you can read them. I guess we tear open the envelope and throw them away. Apparently those missions are generally bugged as well so you might've not lost anything.

Not sure about those specific things, but you can retrieve items from a trashcan by pressing the little red hand icon in the bottom right of an inspected item than you find in the trash.

Hand icon doesn't seem to appear for those types of items. Looks like it's permanent.

Oh well. I'm a bit bummed since it's the first time I found that stupid red/brown envelope. The other times it never appeared. Even went to boss' place. Didn't find anything other than a broken marriage. Lol the detail in this game is hilarious but bugs need fixes.

Currently in the same position. Threw a briefcase in the trash and got nothing out of it besides a picture. Wont let me pick it up either

You cannot retrieve items from the trash, unfortunately.

Can you try contacting/phoning the case giver again and see if they spawn the documents again.?
