I've NEVER had someone tell me anything about a person unless I basically already know everything about them. Every time they just say "That's not enough info to go on!"
Really? You do need a mugshot and a name, but once you have those two (even if you only have a name and several feature details filled out, aside from stuff like shoe size) you can usually get intel on who they are pretty quick if you're poking around the right place. Don't expect people who live outside their building to know them but their neighbors probably can pick them out. But considering the name is at the same time the hardest and easiest part to get, it can be finicky to do it. They do give extra details. I'm not sure if they can give details like 'they're hard of hearing' but its worth a shot because I got details like 'I work with them' or 'They're my partner', so I have to imagine you can learn stuff like 'they like books' in a similar vein.
None of their files mentioned they liked books, always sports, and I ran their names through the government database and got no links.
I'm OK with it being hard to find someone, but it's the point of "is this worth my time", because honestly no it's not.
If we could charge by the hour for a greater reward it could be worth it, with bonus objectives for extra rewards like unique furniture items or a syncdisk. The job giver could have a time limit to avoid players abusing the hourly rate. Or they want a progress update after X hours or they cancel the job.
As it stands I'd rather just abandon the mission and get another one that's achievable.
I like the investigation work when I believe i'm getting anywhere at all. With this one it's just frustrating because I've literally ran every person with a possible match through the government database and got nothing.
I wish I believed that this was just difficult and not bugged, but I just don't see what I've missed. Maybe i'm just dumber than I think.
Y agree, I have a quest to find someone with "blue eyes" and "who likes music". Guess what? Everyone in the building has blue eyes (how's that even possible) and "always talks about sports". Two apartments with pianos and that's the end of my researches
This is very easy?
If they work in that building, just print out all employe files and cross check them.
i bet you get at most 2 people who start with the letter B
I got one that was like "their first name starts with L, they live somewhere in this building, and they have this hair style". Easy peasy, took me like ten minutes.
this is in a very large size generated city.
This is the second arrest case in a row my game has thrown at me where there's literally no way to track down the target due to no tangible clues.
If I had any address, phone number, mugshot or work place I'd have done this in mere moments but this is almost literally a needle in a haystack.
